Also, who is that crouching in the background. I've read people saying it's Iceman melting, but I don't see it. It looks more like hair to me, that ice melting.

And neither is Sunfire. Since when do only members of the X-Men get to be on the covers? If it is sunfire on the cover, they could be in Japan, so it would be somewhat possible that Lady Deathstrike be there as well.

Go back to Jake V's post on page 1....he circles the person we're talking about. That person is not melting. And I still don't see Rogue at all in the pile of "melting" X-Men.

You're right....from the solicitation, it's not real clear, it refers to "a" new horseman, which means only 1, and then it says "we're not just talking this guy on the cover" (Sunfire). The "just" could be taken as that there will be 2 new horsemen.

yeah, uncanny 446, where she was possessed by the fury and did actually hunt down her teammates. i feel pretty certain that sunfire is intended to be a horseman in this upcoming arc. i don't think colossus is going to melt and the other x-men shown be burned to death, but i do think sunfire is not going to be on their side.

I agree with you Beast, thats who I thought it was on first look. I mean the coloring is practically a give-away, he's white/silver colored and it looks like streams of water running off of him.

Well, I'm looking forward to this arc, hopefully it will be more interesting than Milligan's most recent arcs. Now we just gotta wait out "Doop the space poop" and we get some Apocolypse and the new horsemen. YEAH BABY, YEAH!

WoW always loved that Sunfire design , and was quite a lot dissapointed once the regular MU came back , to see him again with that lamo pseudo japanese costume of his!!

Sounds like i might finally get a satisfying Milligan arc!!! Still i hope that Apocalypse and his horsemen wont just be around for that arc then dissapear/get killed again , at the end of the arc . Let him be around for good , or at least for a long time , and do some damage in every X books AND other corners of the MU .

I always disagreed with the idea of only using Apocalypse in X books . His obsession about power and survival of the fittest could very well be used outside of Mutantdom . Also if really needed a plot could feature Pocy hunting down a precise mutant in the pages of New avengers or other marvel books .

My only other guess at this point would be Iceman. Because he was a horseman during House of M, and it'd be neat with the whole "fire and ice" theme. My reason for saying this is b/c of what the solicit say's and the House of M reality was 616 continuity.

Since Warren has lost his mutant powers, it makes a lot of sense that Apocalypse could and will give him back his artificial wings and powers again. I hope this happens, because I prefer Warren as Archangel over Angel.

But the character's face is that of a female, and not a male. And look at the characters dark hair falling on her back and shoulders, while the hair on the front of her head is white just like the front of Rogue's hair is. And look at the shoulder pad of Rogues jacket on her melting arm. The character could be Ice Man, but the face is very feminine looking.

I really think people are getting carried away and just looking into this cover far too deeply.

1: it does look female.
2: it could be iceman because it appears that he is in fact "melting" where as Havok is not and if it were Rogue or any other female character the artist probably wouldn't make them melt and not Havok..that doesn't make sense.
3: Who said the character in question is hiding? You can't tell...perhaps he/she just feel to her knees and happened to NOT be up front.
4: You can't really tell by color, everything is tinted and hughed because of the intense heat.

The only certain and "clear" thing about said mystery character is that it is definetly NOT clear or obvious. It could be any number of things or characters. To say that you know it is somebody for sure is egotistical and slightly condescending imo.

First of all, I doubt X-Man would be hiding under a Rock from Sunfire. By the way, I look forward to their battles in the upcoming year.

Sunfire is omnipotent heat and Iceman is omnipotent H2O. Not Ice, but H20. As seen in the X-Men Forever run. Shown to Bobby by Prosh. Iceman (in full control of his abilities and capabilities) could freeze the very Oxygen Ion's in the air and shut off Sunfire's Fire...Even a not in full control Iceman could just absorb the Oxygen to form more Water and thus more Ice for himself to thwart Sunfire. Sunfire could also burn the moisture from the air.

Either way, it'd be a GREAT matchup.

I also doubt Rogue would be hiding, because she could just turn into fire and be at the same heat... :confused:

I dunno who it is though. I'm just glad to see Sunfire back in his AoA design. As far as the next Horseman, as much as I want it to be Polaris or Icarus, I doubt it. I think Polaris finding what she saw in Outerspace will give her some sort of power...whether a new one or the same thing. Icarus is already tied up in an arch in New X-Men. So I doubt it's him. I think he doesn't want to be a mutant. It'd be a nice twist though. Anyone still have the link for the "3 of 12" Horseman pictures.
