A thread dedicated to ditties which you initially thought were kind of OK, but repeated listenings made you appreciate them more and more.
I'll nominate Talk from Coldplay's X&Y. Not much of a fan of the band but I really like this track especially as the theme of brotherly communication's become a lot more relevant to me since my kid brother (and smart-mouth sidekick) moved out to go to college\uni.

I absolutely, positively loathed G'n'R's [I]Sweet Child O' Mine the first dozen or so times I heard, mainly because I was always onlt catching the very tail end of the song. But it only took one listen of Slash's opening riff to elevate the song to my All-Time Top 5, where it has remained for over 15 years.

Every song that I think is completely overrated and stupid upon first hearing eventually grows on me for some reason.
And a week later I come to my senses. :p

"Stuck inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again." By Bob Dylan. Or pretty much all Bob Dylan songs, His voice grows on you, it's practicly an Instrumant itself in the way it wraps around the Melody.

I wouldn't elevate it that high...it's not even my fav GNR... but I agree on reasons and the opening line is not that bad either.
There's a number of song I didn't like until I understood the lyrics... I disliked Blues Traveler's "Hook" because I thought it was too sing songy until I found out it was a direct attack against sing-songy songs.
