Yeah, there's a thread for this over at the Avengers board, but they're the Great Lakes X-Men now, dagnabbit! ;)

Man this was great. If you liked the GLA mini-series, you'll love this. A collection of six short stories full of christmas themed mayhem. Obvious dark humor is abound, but there are a few touching moments here and there.

See Squirrel Girl vanquish MODOK, Terrax, and Thanos (although those were off-panel. We also see still images of her beating Mandarin, Dr. Doom (again?), and some big creature called Giganto) and still have time for holiday shopping!

See the GLX save Muskego from the yuletide tyranny of Dr.Tannenbaum and his killer Christmas tree army (with plenty of misapropirate use of the word "flock"), and flashback to how Mr. Immortal and Dinah Soar first uh...got together (Flatman: Dear Sweet God! I did not need to see that!)

See a new Grasshopper debut and save Roxxon Labs from Killer Shrike...then die by accidentally launching himself into space. Oops. Grasshopper, the Kenny of the superhero set?

See Doorman finally bond with his Dad...when he takes his soul off to the afterlife. He is the angel of death now (he even has tingling "Death Sense"!)

See Deathurge (still a squirrel silhoutte) try and kill Tippy-Toe to gain Oblivion's favor back. Tom & Jerry style antics ensue.

Plus, cut out your very own Marvel Legends Flat-Man action figure! With infinite points of articulation, and three sayings you can with your own voice! Tippy-Toe says: Remember kids, get your parents permission before playing with scissors (Mr Immortal: Not again!)

Very funny stuff all around, I thought, and I liked each of the artist's work for the stories, although Wieringo's Tippy-Toe was kinda creepy at first. I was suprised Bertha didn't get her own story though, since everyone else did (Flatman's was in essence, the action figure).

Highly reccomended.

Those were archive footage. The Mandarin is still dead (where oh where is Temugin?) and so I think Slott was referring to the Ditko issue, too. :)

Oops. Grasshopper, the Kenny of the superhero set?

YOU ARE STEALING MY JOKES!

:D ;)

Tom & Jerry style antics ensue.

AHEM!!!

It was awesome! :D

I've got all the Iron Man vs. series battle cards. Did you know you had a defense stat of 8?

No, I didnt.

Mine's 6. :D

You know I'm actually curious about checking to see if there is a Squirrel Girl vs card?

I read the first few pages in my LCS and laughed out loud. The guy saw what I was reading and nodded.

Funny, funny stuff. Squirrel Girl is going to be one of my favorites from now on. I wonder what this issue will do for the Rumbles board, now that she PWNed MODOK and Thanos in one issue?

Bought the GLA Misassembled TPC and the GLX Christmas Special today. Misassembled was great, but I thought the special was a letdown. I thought the art in the stories drawn by Jeantys and Haley looked rushed and unfinished. And the stories really didn't pack the same punch as Misassembled.

The only exception was the Doorman story. That was a great combo of solid art (Grist is great) and a smart, touching little story with a cool twist.

This issue was friggin awesome! I need to buy the "Misassembled" TPB now cause if its anything like this or better I'll be extremely pleased with it. There was some great comedy and a couple of "heart warming" moments as well, some of the art wasn't that great, but the story made up for it easily.

misassembled is more of the same but with better art.

Shoot, my favorite part was seeing MODOK show up again. I hadn't seen him in any comics since Erik Larsen's Wolverine, which was cut short to editorial stupidity.

By the way, what has (if anything) Matt Haley done before? I rather liked his art for this.
