Leaving Thanos?
I know in his book post Marvel, there was a dumpster with the words Marvel on the side...so I assume his leaving was not a positive one. Any idea what happened there? I think it's sad that Marvel is doing this Annhialation storyline and the MAN is nowhere to be seen.
Just wondering.

Why is that sad? Do you really want to see Starlin write a story where his pet character, once again, attains supreme power, defeats the entire MArvel Universe, only to defeat himself in the end?
Starlin stories about Thanos read like bad fan fiction.

I have to agree regarding Starlin, when he took over Silver Surfer back in the day, I had really high hopes, suddenly the Surfer is barely in it, and most of the book focused on the set up to Thanos quest and then Infinity Gauntlet, which was mostly about Adam Warlock! Another of Starlins pet characters.

Sadly Starlin gave up trying to do anything fun ages ago. It's the same as watching your favourite band from 20 years ago climb up on stage for yet another farewell tour.

I know a Starlin fan who asked him what happened with Thanos at a convention a year ago. He told me all Starlin said was "Marvel was being a dick."
And that was it.

Probably shot down his plans for Infinity Forever, in which Thanos finds the "Nose of the Universe", and uses it to put the Living Tribunal over his knee and spank him.

Hey, we get the point...you have uncreative, unwitty thoughts about your perceived lack of creativity on Starlin's part.
Wow. thanks. It's obvious you didn't read the Thanos series and its even more obvious that you should have given up reading superhero comics 20 years ago.
Here's more recent examples of your well thought out comic book opinions:
"I'm talking real skill, not idiotic comic book martial arts"
And your odd wacky hateful feelings toward Starlin:
Starlin never wins anything, anytime, in any place.
"Anyone who creates a jobber aura that big to protect their pet character, is clearly someone who can't win in real life, and has to use their fiction to make up for their losses."
And here you contradict yourself, since now Starlin is a good writer, and not an example of bad fan fiction:
"Starlin is a solid writer, but for some reason Thanos takes all his good traits and twists them into a craptacular Thanos lovefest time and time again."
And your most well thought out post:
Thanos is a BS character, only trotted out when Marvel feels like letting Starlin boost his ego by having Thanos beat everyone in the Marvel Universe with another lame master plot, that shows no more ingenuity or intelligence than the average super villain scheme, but gets the benefit of once again being based around a plot device of near limitless power that, for some reason, only Thanos knows about and can obtain/assemble.
OK, so you got a hard on for Thanos and Starlin, apparently. But please realize, comic book companies DO NOT put out books strictly to boost a talents ego...it's to make MONEY.
So, what do your 373 postings tell me about you? That message boards give folks an opportunity to spout shit about anything, with no real facts....and certainly things they would never say to another person's face (and I'm guessing based on you choice of Icon, that recess was a difficult time for you during the school day....)

Ha, wow, you are such a fan of Starlin, and so offended by my comments, that you actually took the time to search through and posted every single comment I've ever made on Starlin and Thanos on these message boards. Congrats, I'm very proud of your ability to put so much time into such a meaningless quest.

Buddy, do you know anything about martial arts? Ever boxed, wrestled, done judo, BJJ? No? Well then, let me inform you that the stuff sold as martial arts in comics has little to nothing to do with real martial arts. It makes 70's Kung FU movies look realistic by comparison. If you like the stuff, fine by me, by my opinion is that its just silly and poorly executed.
About saying stuff to people's face:Son, don't go there. Anything I'ver ever said on here, I'd gladly say it to the persons face, Starlin included. Not being immature fanboy, of course I wouldn't walk up to the man and start trashing him. But if he or someone asked my opinion of his work and Thanos infront of him, he'd hear pretty much the same thing. Its poor work, that typically hinges on another ill concieved device of ultimate power allowing Thanos to run all over everything. If you enjoy reading that over and over, great. More power to you.
My choice of icon is the dalek. Truth be told, I've seen perhaps 3 episodes of the show. I choose the dalek because I think they are a neat, cheesy looking visual design. No, recess was pretty easy for me. Playing football and basketball in the summer, and king of the hill in the winter were great times. Thanks for your concern.
Little friend, any more opinions you have on this should be sent private message. This isn't the place for squabbling. WE can even work on that face to face meeting, if you want.

Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt

Buddy, do you understand what the word "fiction" means? Superman can FLY and MOVE BUILDINGS and shoot RAY BEAMS out of his eyes! MY GOD that's horrible, because that's not possible in real life!
If you're complaining that "martial arts" in comics aren't closer to the real thing, you really need to get out more.
But if he or someone asked my opinion of his work and Thanos infront of him, he'd hear pretty much the same thing.
Here's the thing -- NO ONE ASKED YOUR OPINION.

That's a rather common plot line in superhero comics -- the idea of a evil tyrant who wishes to rule the world. Again, if that's not your cup of tea -- seriously, read something else. But bashing Starlin, and more importantly, people who happen to LIKE Starlin doesn't make you out to be anything more than a troll.
