Not sure if this has ever been done for our fav dragon Lockheed but if so, tough!

I'm just lovin' Locky this year - Whedon has used him to nice effect in his first arc (frying Ord) and Claremont recently included some cool scenes with him in New Excalibur. Not to mention, all the great moments over the years - when he fell in love with that dragon after Secret Wars, never leaving Kitty's side when she was badly wounded by the Marauders, a glimpse into his homeworld in Excalibur (although I hear some hated that issue - I thought it was clever and original).

Express your feelings for Lockheed here - your fav moment, your thoughts on whether he is indeed a mutant (maybe in his own race?), etc. Wolverine was right - he should be a member and lead the team! hehe

Heck, even if you hate the lil' bugger, express yourself (just be prepared to be flamed)! ;)

ProfessorTen <--wishing he had a pet dragon of his own

Lockheed is an X-Men from the day he come from space to Kitty´s side. Thou he was never treated that way by any writer because he is a dragon.......!

I like him a lot and wish they give him a spotlight every now and than, he deserved that long time now.

The wee dragon is actually a dragon.

Ah, Early Excalibur...that's when he really shined.

when Lockheed was first introduced I really, really didn't like him or Kitty for that matter. Seemed way too silly.

Lately though I've enjoyed his courage and commitment.

I'm not one to talk considering my Ali love, but I never ever understood the Lockheed following. Of course, I don't like "fantastical" elements in my comics, anyhoot and always saw Lockheed as an extension of that.

Ah well. Can someone explain the Lockheed love for me? I just do not get it.

I think Lockheed represents different things to everyone but for me, he embodies the following characteristics - loyalty, courage and unconditional love.

He's steadfast in his commitment to the X-Men and Kitty especially.

He's courageous, throwing himself in the line of fire to protect the team or battle a villian. He's also handy at knowing when someone is not to be trusted - even when the X-Men don't know.

And his bond with Kitty demonstrates uncondiitonal love - he doesn't judge her but is always there celebrating her joys or trying to cheer her up when she is down in the dumps.

He's also cute as a button (or a dragon, for that matter) - especially when he tries to speak. :)

Not sure if you have/ever had a pet but the bond that's created between human/animal there is reminiscent of Lockheed's bond with the X-Men/Kitty...

Tries to speak? If we are to believe the Warren Ellis run, all the "CoooOOoooOo!"'s and "YAH YAH!"'s are just an act to hide his intelligence. Hard to believe he'd be able to hide that from telepaths of Xavier's caliber, tho'. The Trial of Lockheed suffered from the rhyming device- it was a tough read, but I found the content interesting.

I do love me my Lockheed. He was probably my favorite character during the Ellis run- cute, yet sneaky. And oh so pro-Piotr! Which was a change, I'll admit, from the jealousy he'd once borne for the Russian.
