When DC does get around to doing a Legion of Super Heroes Showcase where do you think they should start it from? When the book went from just Superboy to Superboy/Legion of Super Heroes? When the book dropped Superboy and just became Legion of Super Heroes? Maybe the begining of the baxter series?

I know they say that they don't want to just reprint all the really early stuff that the Archives have already covered so it kinda leaves Legion in an odd place.

I say start with Superboy/Legion 198 and go from there.

I wish they'd start with the earliest Adventure Comics stories, the ones from before 1967 or so. I essentially have no use for a Showcase Presents volume that collects the later stories, because I can afford the originals.

If I was a betting man, I would say a Legion Showcase is going to come out sometime this Summer or September at the latest. They have to publicize the cartoon show.

My guess would be the first stories as the Showcase books present the Silver Age stories. The Adventure era ran from 1958 to 1970, which is within the time period they're focussing on. Plus all the artwork is ready to go thanks to the Archives.

As much as I'd like to start with the post-Archival issues, starting from the beginning probably makes the most sense.

I've been saying this for years:

DC should start two series, DC Silver and DC Gold. Each book would be an anthology title, that would randomly reprint stories from the respective eras. That would give people exposure to what's come before, and now in many cases, previous continuities, without enfringing on what current writers/artists are doing. I'd buy both of these books, because I loved the reprinted stories from the 30's, 40's and 50's that were available in the giant size issues, when I was a kid!

tough question, I have most of the archives and really I want more of them. I wouldn't be interested in a cheap copy of the early adventures though I appreciate it would be better over all.

i would start wtih the good stuff, Earthwar and work forward from there. include the old Secrets of the LSH mini to get readers up to speed.

I would LOVE to see the Legion from the start-the fact that Superboy is a member I LOVE, even tho i don't quite understand it. Did he time-travel there or something? I would think this SHowcase would be high on the list...

Yep. He would time travel to the 30th Century regularly, and the Legion would travel back in time as well.

Wicked, Paul. I want to see some of those stories! I love Superboy! He's cool!
