Well folks, its monday and the movie aired on SCI-FI this last friday.. What did everyone think? should it be a series?
After seeing this drivel, I am glad I saved my money and never bought the comic.

I don't usually follow Sci-Fi originals, but I gave this a shot due to it being based on a comic book. Now I never followed the comic series and I'm not sure how faithful it was, but I thought the film was weak. I expected it to be at least decent, and it wasn't even THAT.

Remember how the book is always better than the movie. Well the comic HAS to be better than a SciFi channel show. I mean....its the SciFi channel after all.

Not very from all the press I saw. It looks like they used the name and slapped on some super cheap formula crap. I liked the book too...so I was dissapointed. So much so that I haven't even bothered watching it yet.
Check Palmiotti's thoughts on it. I can't remember where I saw them though.

I watched it, and fell asleep with 45 minutes left. I wasn't overly impressed with what I did see though.

How about an actual Painkiller Jane comic fan commenting on the movie? I can't be the only one who read a few of the books? Can I?

I read it, but didn't see the flick. Sorry.
Also, regret having sold my comics to somebody for some change a few months, back. They weren't doing anything here, though.

Yeah, I started to watch the movie, saw every bit of plot that had been used in every movie like this, it was so predictable. By the first hour passed I needed a Painkiller myself to continue to watch this movie.
And for the show being on SCI-FI, doesnt mean it needs to be bad. Look at a few shows that are good on Sci-fi, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate SG1, Farscape, just to name a few.

I started to amend to include BSG but isnt it a joint venture with the BBC or something.
BTW Stargate doesnt help your case. :)
Also, the comics are better. You should be able to find them in the cheap bins.

It was better made than their typical sci-fi B-movie schlock o'the week, but still not good. If you've ever seen Dark Angel, you've seen Painkiller Jane.

Dark Angel is a thousand times better than the Painkiller Jane movie. The plot was almost non exisent. The action scenes we're very badly done(especially the scenes of her running throught the forest and leaving the soliders behind cuz she's so fast). The way they showed her abilites was lame, stupid, and confusing. It was such a dissappointment. I guess my expectations were to high. I dont usually like the Sci-Fi original movies but since wasnt one about over sized mutated crocodiles I thought it would be decent.
