I have a feeling that a lot of the changes in OYL are being made to make the DCU more TV and movie friendly.
Some of these changes include the Hawkman series turning into the Hawkgirl series; the retiring of the Cassie Cain Batgirl costume; a younger Aquaman in a more quest type storyline; Supergirl and the Legion (which makes me suspect that she's going to be in the upcoming cartoon series); Kyle Raynor no longer a GL; etc.
I wonder if these are hints of current and upcoming TV and movie projects.
