I've been watching these for the first time and enjoying them immensely. Have they ever been released in a set?

not a boxed set but theyr all on DVD.

There is a GLORIOUS 4 disc "Dawn of the Dead" set available:

it contains three versions of the film:

The Theatrical Release
The European Release (less gore)
and the Director's Cut (more gore, but a shorter running time).

all three discs have different commentary tracks

the 4th disc is filled with documentaries and even a commerical for the mall they filmed in !

well worth the money.
