Maybe we should call this the "Lament for cartoons of the past" thread.
Jeez, CN just ain't what it used to be. Yeah, I know about supply and demand; as generations pass, they need more programming to suit that generation. But, dang, can't they keep a little sompin'-sompin' to satisfy us old timers?

The problem with CN nowadays is that the people who started the network are no longer in charge, and those who are in charge now are trying to make CN more like Nickelodeon for reasons understandable only to people with 2-digit IQs.

The worst part is, Cn never shows reruns of JLU. They show one new episode on Saturday night, and then don't release DVD's.

JL Season 1 is coming out in March. That, and they have released a few one-shot, only-a-few-episodes DVDs.

They do, it's called Boomerang. And while I do miss JLU, I could do without all the other old crap CN used to show. The less Funky Phantom, the better
And isn't nearly all of the anime CN airs (except 1 or 2) on adult swim? The vast majority of CN's shows are non-anime, so I don't see what all this fuss is about

Pretty much every anime show that CN airs (except maybe IGPX, or whatever it's called) seems to be a popular, well-recieved show, so I'm not sure where that's coming from.
As far as the amount of anime. It's a cartoon channel, and a cartoon's a cartoon no matter where it comes from, so I couldn't care less about a show's country of origin

If you have them, Cartoon Network doesn't care about you. Illegally download some porn and be quiet.

Amen. And while we're at it, add in some Superfriends for nostalgia and compare/contrast.

Maybe that's so, Stone Gold, but it's the grownups who pay for the cable that allows CN to cater to the little darlings, so maybe it would behoove them to cater to a few adult tastes? It won't kill CN to rerun JLU on the weekends.

What does JLU have to do with catering to adults or children? 0_o
And wasn't it only temporarily taken off until January (somewhere around there)?

So, by that logic, there shouldn't be anything ever on television for kids.
Adult tastes are catered to on every other channel. Kids have like half a dozen, maybe.
Besides, what you're complaining about isn't catering to adult tastes. It's catering to your tastes, and your tastes specifically. The Shield caters to adult tastes. JLU caters to arrested adolescent tastes.

Batman and Superman are on Boomerang.
As for CN in general, the only thing that's really different is their original shows have kinda gone down the tubes - otherwise CN is as good as or better than they've ever been. The channel has always had a lot of filler.

Says the guy who regularly hangs around a Comic Book-themed board and constantly cracks jokes suited for arrested adolescent tastes.
I never said that kids shouldn't have viewing for them. Disney, CN, and Nickelodeon are among the channels which are and SHOULD be available to them. However, there's nothing wrong with regularly running a series that is popular with kids AND adults.

Namely considering the TIME it comes on

Yeah, I'm not presenting this as an "EITHER/OR" scenario--although I wouldn't mind seeing less of the crappy animated shows. Keep the good stuff in the day that appeals to the younger audience. I'm a strong believer in giving children quality choices if they DO watch TV, not just mindless dreck or blatant advertisements for a toy or game. I can't think of one good reason why JLU shouldn't have at least one day out of the week where the fans can see a rerun during the downtime between new episodes.

CN did exactly that until they took it off the air for a while. I imagine they will again
