I can tell you that Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones is playing Blade. It was developed by David Goyer and it is supposed to continue where Blade 3 left off.

MORE:
JONES CONFIRMED FOR BLADE SERIES
Spike TV has cast Kirk "Sticky" Jones to star in the cable channel's premiere original drama effort Blade, reports Variety.
Based on the comic book and film franchise of the same name, Blade centers on a half-man, half-vampire warrior endeavoring to save the human race from a demonic underworld.
Feature screenwriter David Goyer (Batman Begins, the "Blade" trilogy) is executive producing and co-writing the script with the comic's author Geoff Johns. New Line Television is producing.
Spike committed to the project in spring and production is set to begin November 14 in Vancouver. Should Blade get a series pickup, Spike executives are eyeing a June 2006 premiere.
Jill Wagner, Neil Jackson, Nelson Lee and Jessica Gower round out the cast. Peter O'Fallon will direct.
Marvel's Avi Arad and New Line's Jim Rosenthal and Jon Kroll also will executive produce. Bill McGoldrick and Lisa Ullmann will oversee for Spike.
Jones was a regular on FX drama "Over There" and had a recurring role on "The Shield." He is best known, however, as frontman "Sticky Fingaz" for hip-hop group Onyx.

Nah. He has a weird eye that looks off to the side while the other one looks forward. A lazy eye I believe it's called.

Actually, I look forward to seeing pictures of Blade from the new series, and the series itself for that matter. If they don't water it down too much, it could be quite good. It all depends on how well Jones plays the part that Snipes made famous.

Yummy. I want a vamp chick of my own!
Couldn't stand his characters in The Shield or Over There, but Sticky Fingaz actually looks good.

At AICN they did a review of the screenplay for the pilot.
Basically Blade only shows up for fifteen minutes!
The star was a woman ex-police officer/marine who is looking for her lost brother who was taken/turned into a vampire.

15 minutes? WTF?!
Are they trying to fug it up on purpose?

I had heard that too, only at the Blade Trinity messageboard.
Isn't that one of the complaints of Blade Trinity, how there wasn't enough Blade? Well, its just the TV pilot, maybe he'll be shown more in subsequent episodes.

Pretty much.
For some reason whenever Goyer is involved in Blade projects, post-Blade 2, he wants to shove Blade off to the side and have the "new heroes" as the protogonists. The girl always seems like a Buffy rip-off, too.

I just really want to know how Goyer made something so perfect with Blade 1 and managed to completely piss it away with every subsequent attempt? Sure, he had some help from Del Toro with that, but I don't think I could ever forgive him if this series is bad.

Well, first of all, Blade 2 rocked, so shut ya mouth! Second, Aside from the story of the film, the visual flair and action had more to do with Norrington, Snipes and stunt coordinators he had worked with in the past. Goyer directing the first Blade would have been a disaster(as would Ernest Dickerson, who was originally approached).

Is it wrong that my first thought looking at those pictures was "isn't he a little light skinned to be playing Wesley?"

This actor does not have any martial arts experience apparently. At least Snipes is a martial artists and athletic.

Oh Lord. :(
They had better rectify that situation soon, or there is going to be thousands of Blade fans up in arms, including Snipes.

It's not like Snipes does it himself , his stunt double does most of his work.

As much as a pain Snipes was I have little doubt that if Trinity had been done his way it would have turned out to be a better film. Why? Because Blade was best when it was about BLADE and Snipes IS Blade.

Unlike the first two Blade movies where Snipes did most, if not all, of his own stuntwork. And IIRC he collabrated with Donnie Yen on the martial arts cheorography for Blade 2.
