It is one of my favorite episodes it has not only that spoof on Mark millers Batman but also ones on the ols Adam West batman and a direct joke poked at The Batman from the overhyped Schoumaeker movies

$33.99 yesterday at Best Buy.
As for the "Batgirl gets gassed" episode, I'm pretty sure you're talking about "Over the Edge", one of the best episodes of the entire series. That one is on the Volume 4 set that just came out.

Besides Legends of the Knight, and Over the Edge
There was Sins os the father, where we first meet tim Drake
The Worlds finest the pairing of Superman/Batman (I believe it comes with the season)
My favorite episode Old Wounds the story of how Dick Garyson left the Bat for good
Demon Reborn Batman saves Superman from Ras A Ghual
Oh too amny to count but you get the picture

Old Wounds is a fantastic episode, in fact the whole season was pretty great.
However, I think the worlds finest supes/bats crossover actually comes with the second season of Superman : TAS...

You do all realize that the show you are talking about isn't really Batman:TAS, it's Batman:Gotham Nights aka The New Adventures of Batman which came out in 1997 where as Batman:TAS ended in 1995.
Sure many of the same people worked on Gotham Nights but it's important that I make the distiction because unlike Batman: TAS, Gotham Nights was awful. I think because they were gearing it towards younger viewers. Batman:TAS was an animated crime drama, while Gotham Nights was just another Saturday morning cartoon.
I did enjoy Dick Grayson becoming Nightwing somewhat. But Tim and Babs became so annoying, but over all the worst of that show was they took away Batman's most powerful weapon, his Batballs.

It was never actually called "Gotham Knights," though. They were considering calling it that, but they never actually created a title sequence for it. It aired as part of "The New Batman/Superman Adventures," and on the DVD, the episodes have the Batman:TAS opening and theme music, which means that officially they are being presented as part of the original "Batman: The Animated Series."
Essentially, it's Batman:TAS with a re-designed look and one new character (Tim Drake). But it's still part of the same series. Lots of shows change their look and add a cute kid in their final seasons, but they're still the same shows.

It's Gotham Knights, if we're getting technical.
And it's no where near awful. The show might not exactly be the same as BTAS, but it's no doubt a natural progression of the series. The characters were streamlined and given a nice dynamic edge that made for some really beautiful animation.
"Over the Edge", "You Scratch My Back", "Never Fear", "Legends", "Judgment Day", "Mad Love"...How can you fault a season full of some many great episodes?

SPeaking of the Vol. 4 DVD set - has anybody gotten it yet? If so, is the episode "Over the Edge" uncut?
If I recall correctly, the first time the episode aired, Batgirl's death scene was a bit longer and more graphic; but after the original airing it was shortened.

This was a concern of mine as well. It is indeed uncut.
You actually see when Batgirl hits the front of the squad car that Gordon and Bullock are riding in, as opposed to the edit where it appears that she died only from the fall.
There's commentary for the episode as well, and they mention how violent the scene turned out to be.

i don't mind if it's a little more saturday morning-ish, since i have a 6 year old boy i think he may find the older seasons a little boring.

Cool. Thanks. :)
I'm gonna pick up the DVD set soon regardless of whether or not that episode was edited, but I'm glad to know it's not. :)
