Has anybody else seen the previews and plans on going to see this movie? It stars Eric Bana and is about what happened at the 1972 Olympics in Munich.

It sounds pretty interesting, although the focus is mostly on the Israeli retaliation for the Munich incident.
There was a great mini series on this topic years ago. Forget the name but it was really good. I understand that the film will be 'balanced' so as to not demonize the Palestinians too much.

this is actually a movie that i thought could be interesting when i'd first heard about it. it's good to know that it's going to be coming out, hopefully my initial reaction won't be wrong.

Yeah, I've heard that all sides get a good "speech scene", which is probably one of the reasons why the movie supposedly clocks in at around three hours in length.

I don't know much about the subject, but the trailer has me interested in it.

I guess it's safe to say Bana's career has survived the disaster that was the Hulk.

If anyone was hurt by Hulk it was Ang Lee, and even there only in terms of getting to mega-budget films, which aren't his usual style anyway.
I read the Time articles, Munich definatly looks interesting.

The movie is called 'Sword of Gideon'. It stared Steven Bauer.

I saw this the other day and it was excellent. Just a great movie. Bana's performance was amazing and I'm shocked he's not being mentioned very much in the awards circles. And while I'm not one to ususlly notice this sort of thing, the cinematagraphy was awesome, just beautiful. Definately a Spielberg classic.
My only complaint would be . . .
I don't think the scenes with Louis (the guy who provides Bana with intel)'s father were necessary. I thought they dragged the movie out a tad too much and I'm not sure I necessarily understood the points of these scenes. The exposition could've been handled better IMO. The guy who played the father was excellent though, never seen him before.
I wasn't a very big fan of the intercutting of Bana making love to his wife, and the execution of the Israeli athletes either. I didn't really "get it" and it seemed a bit too artsy for me.
