And I'm getting so tired of people defending Bat-dick. They're usually the same ones declaring that Bats should "recognize he's living in a comic-book universe where villains always escape the law, so he should kill the Joker and be done with it."
Fine. Then he should ALSO recognize that super-computers always become sentient and go on a killing rampage. "Smartest man in the world," my Aunt Petunia....

Not guilty. Batman gets blamed for entirely too much nowadays. He did this, he did that, blah blah blah. If Infinite Crisis could only do one thing, I hope that its other superheroes not pointing their fingers at Batman every time something goes wrong.

You should talk to some other people. There are plenty of other reasons to defend the current Batman than that.
I'm in the innocent camp, and I'm enjoying the ride. DC's got us talking again and they've put a nice little wrinkle on one of their most iconic characters. As long as nobody gets the Wanda treatment, I'm happy. ;)

Batman sucks because of his hypocrisy. He's always so unforgiving of other people's screw-ups, yet he makes them all the freakin' time. Until recently, very few heroes have really called him out on them. Now they are starting to.

i keep thinking to myself:
it's all right, i believe every hero in the DC universe might have wondered or thought about how they would control other heroes in case they went berzerk.
but, to actually write that down!!!! especially knowing that the slightest chance of having these plans in wrong hands could even EXIST would be enough for a detective like batman not to write them down.
Xavier also did this in the X-men.
that's what i think.

In defense of Batman, the guy is a mental giant, but I doubt even he could memorize all those protocols in the case of an emergency that he would have to use them. His database on the bat-computer was supposedly heavily safeguarded.
If Bats is guilty of anything, it's for not beefing up security after Ra's and certain others have waltzed in and out of the Batcave over the years.

1) He deals with his screw ups in his own way. Really, the man is full of guilt, from the death of his parents, to what's been happening to him and the DCU. The thing is that he actually cares when he messes up and tries to improve himself. When have you heard any of the "League within the League" aka "those mind-wiping dicks minus Zatanna" feel any guilt about what they did?
2) If you think he's gonna whine like a b**ch, and force everyone to forgive him, then you are wrong. Dead wrong. For right now, that's Supes job. Batman won't do that at all.
3) There are other people who need to be called out (ex: the mind-wipers).
Batman is guilty to some extent, and as you can see in OMAC and IC, he not only knows that, but is willing to fix the problem that he inadvertantly made.
Some of you are saying he's guilty because he's a "dick", but actually look at the facts, and not use your feelings about the character, and it will show you that a lot more people to blame (like MAX LORD? )

Fine, but one necessary element of making amends to people whom one has hurt through his mistakes is to communicate with those whom he has hurt. Batman's problem in recent years is that he's stubbornly uncommunicative, which usually compounds the problem.

True, but at least he isn't crying on people's shoulders like Superman has been doing recently (that's an exaggeration, but you know what I'm talking about).
Note: I'm a Captain Marvel fan, not a Bat-fan..... That much.

Well, I'm in the camp who thought that Tower of Babel was an interesting idea, but poorly executed. I think Batman would have just had some of those closest to him memorize the protocols with him, so that he could be sure if someone turned and took him out right away, Dick or Barbara or someone could step up.
I also don't think the OMACs are Batman's fault. Some of the deaths are. Anyone who died because of information gleaned from Brother I, Batman can take some of the blame for. Not all of it, of course, it's not like he pulled the trigger.
He also does have BIG communication issues. Which cause problems. The strength that heroes have typically had over villains was the ability to present a unified front. Batman's recent attitiude is not conducive to that. Yes, he is willing to work to correct his mistakes, but he will not admit them to anyone else, which alienates them. I hope they will temper that part of his character, and allow him to be closer to some of the other heroes.

speaking of trial
There is a MOCK trial at Dcboard. Prosecutins currently doing the case..and the Defense (my team) winning. Although prosecution got some shots in early.
look at the superman testimoney it basicly shows my points on the matter. About how Bats shouldnt be the ONLY hero being called out.

Not guilty.
I've made my points to why in the past.
Look it up.

Guilty of making and losing Brother MK1. But not guilty of the OMACs.
Guilty of being a complete asshole to his family.

Not only that. its as if Batman was made to personify the current darkness in DCU. but in IC #1 (where he dissed supes for not being inspirational anymore)
Batman was more in touch of where he stands in defending his case. He silenced Supes and Diana in that exchange. For me both actually came out more beaten than Bruce.
IC #2 , Superman actually acknowledge that Bruce is always right.

Not Guilty.
It may have been his fualt that Brother I had gotten stolen, but it's not his fualt that Max Lord used it for his own evil purposes.
Same with his protocols in ToB. They weren't lethal until Ra's stole them and MADE them lethal.
