and I am legally barred from stalking anyone.

Now a serious question, is it likely that such a program would really send emails to hum?

I wouldn't worry.

If you are that worried though, tell them you are attracted to them.

I mean, at worst, they'll say thanks and go make fun of you behind your back.

But at best, THREESOME!

Guys.

Unless your crush is foolish enough to believe someone's unsolicited e-mail, then you have nothing to worry about.

And if they are that foolish, then I can't help you.

That's not what I'm worried about, really.

What gets me is I was stupid enough to use my REAL NAME and now I'm worried about identity theft.

Now I feel like one of these women on the news. "My name is Susan and I am a victim of identity theft."

Never thought of that, but it is only my name, for Identity Theft I suspect they need more data.

Still a bit concerned but not as concerned as I was, the bloke would have to be a real C*nt to use the info maliciously or show it around.

Heh, the thought of somebody using my name for evil deeds both amuses and frightens me.

Eh, I'll get over (forget) this in a few days. Or a month. Or a year, hopefully. :)

Has anyone deleted all the crap in the URL address and gone to www.crushcalculator.com itself to find out what this really is?

It explains it all there. It's susposed to be used to trick your mates into telling about who you have a crush on.

I could create my own.

Warsprite, we aren't send you all this stuff are we?

You know what the best part is?

This guy set up a page as a little prank to fool his friends, and now it's been passed all over the place, and his e-mail box is getting stuffed to the gills with random e-mails announcing that "Wilfred Nottington" has a crush on "Agatha Bindlestiff", people he's never heard of.

Without any e-mail addresses attached, he can't do a thing with them except wade through trying to get to the ones that mention people he's actually heard of.

So if everybody here were to send him, say, 3 or 4 such messages using random names form the phone book or famous characters from literature or movies, that would really just ruin his day. Serves him right for trying to put one over on his friends. Messing with people is not to be entered into lightly; sometimes they mess back.

3 or 4?

Hell, I've spammed that damn thing well over a hundred times in the past 2 days, easy.

I plan on conitinuing to spam it a hundred times a day till Alan crys "uncle" and it disappears.

I don't think that's the way it works, Mac. It's set up so anybody can do it. I could put my email into it and then pass out the link they generate to all of my friends.

The dude that started the thread is the one getting all these, I think. Or maybe that dude's friend.

I got tricked by one of these, but it wasn't too bad. The bad part was when I sent one out and put it on my blog. Nothing bad at first, just some info I already knew and a couple of juicy ones.

But then, weeks later, I looked back and realized something about the names.

One of them was the mother of one of my students. She must have googled me to find my blog. I had already met her after she'd done the survey but before I realized it was her. Whoo-wee.
