We have been seeing alot of comics being turned into films so I was wondering if you could think of any non-comic film that would make a good comic then what will it be?

Kill Bill would make a excellent comic if Frank Miller is involved in the writing.

I don't really see the point in adapting a film directly to comic form. Which is strange, given that there's so much demand for adapting comics to the big screen. I guess as a visually-oriented culture, we have the desire to see things in motion, larger than life on the screen.

That said, Serenity was a great lead-in to the movie, but the Neverwhere adaptation (which was previously a novel and a BBC mini-series) sucks.

I'll go along with Kill Bill, too.

I think there may have been a short lived Starship Troopers comic at one time after the movie but it could do with a decent follow on story.

Braveheart would be cool as a comic too. FREEEEDDDDDOOOOOMMM!

Lord of The Rings: With the stories Tolken's got before Fellowship of The Ring started I could see some good issues coming from this.

Lord of The Rings

I'd give some of the prequel material a chance, especially with a good creative team. But wouldn't they count as adaptations of books?

I agree re: Neverwhere. It is definitely not satisfying.

Personally I think all Hammett and Chandler films would make great comics. As would any detective noir.

Mad Max. It could go either way. A prequel containing stories about Max's earlier adventures when he was younger or stories set after the events of Beyond Thunderdome.

Was thare a Indiana Jones comic. If not then Id like to see a comic based on Indiana Jones films since another Indey film seems unlikely.

Marvel made the Adventures of Indiana Jones in the early 80s after Raiders came out. Not a bad series. Byrne did the first four issues and then Kerry Gammill did the bulk of the run.

Also there were I think 2 Indy minis from Dark Horse.

On the plus side, it allowed me to kill time while teaching the Fantastic Literature course I was a part of. I basically put the images up and mocked them for a few good minutes. Everyone in the class loosened up and it went pretty well.

The Last Starfighter.

The film's ending totally set it up for the sequel. Set the comic twenty years later (i.e. today) with Alex returning to Earth to recruit help for the Ko-dan's second push. He would also reconnect with Louis, who he hasn't seen in all this time and who has gone insane because he can't prove what happened to Alex. Of course, during this time Alex will have had children with Maggie, and they would be main characters as well, with the eldest becoming a starfighter under his or her father's command.

Only if the comic take place during the time Harry's parents were in Hogwarts.

Great topic!

I did a bit here (http://goodcomics.blogspot.com/2005/01/what-film-would-you-like-to-see.html) on this awhile back, and the following three were ones that I thought would work really well:

"The Third Man" - You could either have it as following Harry Lime around, doing his misdeeds, or you could have it star Holly (Rollo) Martins, following Harry around trying to stop him.

"Lone Star" - John Sayles created such a ripe background for many an interesting tale about Rip County, Texas.

"Notorius" - Couldn't you just see Alicia Huberman and T.R. Devlin continue to try to outwit the Nazi war criminals?

A Pirates of the Caribbean spin-off comic about Captain Jack Sparrow. Thanks to Johnny Depp Sparrow has became one of the most popular characters ever. A comic series about him would not doubt sell.
