View Full Version : Ultimate Felicia Hardy has the worst hair ever.

Ugh, what was Bagely thinking? Felicia had the best hair ever in 616, so silky and smooth and white.

What the hell is that? It's like some kind of fusion between a granny and uber lesbian haircut. It makes her look like a carpet munching aunt may.

Wouldn't it be more practical to have short hair with her costume, and long hair when she's "at her leisure"?

I hope they correct this next time we see her with her costume off.

Ugh.

WOW.

...that picture immediately made me think of Wendie Malick. (Had to do a little google-ing before I found the actresses' name.) How creepy. Does anyone have a picture of her that shows the similarity? Can you post them side by side in a post on this thread?

if you don't mind her having short hair when she's in costume i don't see your beef, it makes sense that she has a different style to remove her from her alias and her 616 hair was blonde as hardy i'm sure...
either way, i don't think 'carpet munching' is very polite.

I mean short like the Spider-man 2 game's Bobbed Black Cat, not short as in a reject hairstyle from the three stooges. She looks best with the hair she has in MK Spider-man.

Can't I say carpet munching if I am a lesbian?

I don't think they mean it as one of those "I can make Jewish jokes because I'm a Jew" kinda things. I think they are just asking for more considerate language. (Just so it doesn't seem like I'm "hiding behind" what someone else has posted, I'll admit that I'd rather there be more appropriate language here, also, but my reasons may not be the same. I just wish this site was more respectful to the younger eyes that come on the boards here.)

At any rate, I hope it's not a matter of anyone trying to squelch your right to free speech, as that argument only leads to other people posting some very inappropriate things just to prove a point. I hope that you understand my heart in this; I'm not trying to shut you down or somesuch; I'm just asking for more respectful language. It's obviously your choice whether to be more respectful or otherwise.

I think having the long white hair would make it much to easy for people to identify her, she is a thief and all.

Funny stuff, but yeah I was very disappointed to see Felicia with the short dyke like hair cut. I guess they were trying for a Catwoman look and it just went wrong.

Yeah, that's one thing I thought of, which is why it would make sense for her to have long white hair IRl, but the short white wig like she has in SM2 when she's not Black Cat.

Any decent hairstyle would be fine though ;/ Not that... ugh...

She can't be older than 24 when we see her first. But when we see her out of costume, her appearance and dress sense puts her in her 40s.

?

I'm not sure I understand what that means.

If it means something about it not actually being disrespectful to lesbians, then that's not how I intended what I said. I (*sincerely*) don't believe that it's a matter of "I'm Jewish so I can make jokes about Jews." For my perspective (I can't say for sure what fanboy d and Mike Smash! meant) it's a matter of what's appropriate for the younger members. Regardless of the age of *most* of us, there are members here who are in middle school, and I even know of at least one in elementary school. It's that there are certain concepts, words, phrases, etc. that are not appropriate for those ages.

On topic: does anyone see the resemblance in the drawing and the actress, or is it just me?

Okay, I'm not a huge believer in "Offensive for younger members" when it comes to issues of sexuality.

I mean, I very much doubt that they don't know what it means under a different name. Plus I don't like that gays and lesbians do get relegated to "Purely sexual" far too often.

*shrug*

Okay.

As I said; obviously it's your choice. It just depends on where your heart is at.

I don't see you as an enemy or anything; I just don't see most sexual comments, concepts, etc. as appropriate for younger readers. You do your thing; I was simply trying to be polite and ask, because I'm sick of people who get offended like I did, and then launch into rants and personal attacks or whatnot. (The posters above didn't do that, but I've seen at least one other place on this site where it has happened.)

Can we talk about Felicia's terrible hair and how much Bagely needs to be whipped, please? :/

Who's in Elementary school?

Not my place. I didn't say the screenname for that reason. That's not the point I was making; please understand my heart in that.

On topic: Bagley's art is up for debate, anyway. If you look at the first TPB of Ultimate Spidey, it's full of gorgeous, precise strokes. Compare it to issues of Ultimate Carnage, and there's no intentionality in the artwork. Gwen looks like an average bystander in this scene, and then has an ethnic-shaped nose in the next scene.

So eventually, I'm sure that due to a decline in his quality, Felicia's hair will look different. (Maybe not "better" - but different.)

Wow, that hair is just... terrible.

Then again, I don't like Ultimate Spider-Man anyway.

I own the first TPB of USM and have only borrowed the rest. But yeah, I did notice that it somehow seemed clearer and nicer.

Maybe the book being bimonthly is taking a toll on him.

I thought Bimonthly meant every two months? I'm confused now.

I didn't know Ult. Aunt May had her younger self travel to the present time to kill Felicia Hardy and replace her as the Black Cat.

The things you learn.

It can mean both. There was a similar problem with a discussion on House of M. Someone looked it up in the dictionary. It depends on how it is used. Gotta love the English language. Not confusing at all.

OMIGOD--her hair looks like it's about to slide off the side of her head...

Regarding "being respectful to lesbians"--being gay myself, I say we should cut the PC crap and say whatever we wanna say. I am so tired of the condescending, let's protect the hypersensitive minority crap. Gay people have GREAT senses of humor about themselves. We don't need protecting.

But in this case, the anology is all wrong. If that character was supposed to look like a lesbian, she'd have a mullet.

Yeah I said it.
