Hey, all!
I'm sure y'all have seen photos of my wife Snow Sabre and our two little baby girls. You've probably noticed that both girls look ALOT like their mom.
Is that like a typical genetic thing for mom DNA to own dad DNA in baby girls? My two kids look totally like their mom and not like me at all. Not that I'm complaining. That's definitely a good thing that they look like Snow Sabre and not me! LOL!

I could be wrong, but I think it's just the luck of the draw.

Beats me, but as far as anecdotal evidence goes, my wife says my little girl resembles me a heck of a lot more than she resembles her. And people used to say that my son looks more like her than me, but now it's more 50/50.

I'm no expert, but I've seen plenty of example of children looking a LOT like their fathers - enough to make me think that BA's right. Luck of the draw.
Besides, they're all female and the girls are really young. Have a boy and let him age a bit, then see if he has more of your features.
Oh yeah. Some people just have REALLY STRONG freakin' genes! I've seen people that have faces that you just KNOW the kids are gonna have. I don't know how to describe it, but I've seen a number of examples of families where damn-near everyone looks alike, except for one parent or something.

Sounds like my family. Someone guessed that people think I look more like whichever parent they happened to see FIRST.
"Boy, you look JUST like yo' daddy!"
"Oooh, that boy looks like his momma!"
People swore these things... mostly until I started growing mad facial hair.

It's really just chance.
However some genes are dominant over others and if Snow Sabre has a trait that is dominant over one of yours then that may show up in the girls. But I think a lot of traits are co-dominant, so you're stuff might be blended in with hers.
Don't let it get you down, it was your sperm that gave them the X chromosome that made them female.

I don't believe so. Not breaking into discussions on genetics, but you have a good chance of inheriting traits from either side (with regards to dominant traits and recessive ones).
Want an example?
My mom is a strawberry blonde with blue eyes.
My dad is a brunette with brown eyes.
From the two of them, they have five girls, no boys.
Me: Dark Auburn, Hazel. I look like a female version of Dad.
Second Girl: Light Auburn, Brown. Looks like Dad too.
Third: Blonde, Blue. Looks like Mom.
Fourth: Bright Orangey-Red, Blue. Looks like Mom.
Fifth: Copper Red, Blue. Has mom's coloring, but more strongly resembles Dad.

Heh. I think y'all probably right. It probably is more chance than anything though I also think that Koko's DNA really does have my DNA's number! LOL!
But I can still own her in stuff like archery and arm wrestling. Not that I've ever tried arm wrestling with her. She'd probably look at me funny if I asked her to.
I don't think I'll ever get the chance to see if my DNA can "win" one against her because we both agreed we aren't having any more kids. So unless something completely unexpected happens, she wins the title at 2-0!

Maybe the kids will inherit your height? Facial hair?

I know they've got my 'tude. At least Kana, the older one does. Stubborn as mule sometimes and never knowing when to call it quits.
And I couldn't be prouder of her! :D

No, her makeup should be from both of your DNA. She gets her mitochondrial DNA from her mom though...so if the girls are ever being lazy and won't do chorse when they grow up, you know what say... :D

Of course, if they grow up to have advanced healing or thermal subtraction gifts, Pyro says that's all SharpShooter's fault.

My dads 2nd cousin has a son who has 5 girls. In fact he and his wife kept fighting to get a son each time. He finally admitted...." I've lost in the Genes battle for a son."

Friends of mine have a two-year-old daughter who since birth has looked like her dad. Her mother got sick and tired of every single person commenting on the resemblance to dad. All of a sudden, a few months ago, the kid looks like mom. When they come in contact with strangers these days all the comments are about her resemblance to her mother.

As long as the kids dont resemble the mailman, you are good to go! ;)
Sorry. Just a joke! ;)
I think it's only natural for a daughter to resemble the mother. The gender sorta defines a lot of the characteristics of the child, and that would naturally lean toward the parent of the same sex.
Are you both planning for more kids? It would be interesting to see what happens with a boy. In any event, congrats for the great family! :)
Cheers to your family~~~JadeDragon

Have you seen Snow Sabre's photos? Years from now, her girls are going to break a few hearts. :)
