I think it would be a fun idea if DC did decide to revive the characters full-time. Hey, if they are cancelling the Teen Titans cartoon, they need something to replace it with.

Here is a little more history on the team:

I wonder if a "Just'a Lotta Animals" revival can be far behind? Hee Hee, I love "Stacked Canary".

Roll Call:
Super Squirrel
Wonder Wabbit
Batmouse
The Crash
Green Lambkin
Batmouse
The Martian Anteater
Rat Tornado
Elongator
Zappanda
The Item
Hawkmoose
Stacked Canary
Green Sparrow
Firestork

I didn't really understand, as i didn't read it all.

It will be a story at the back of Teen Titans #30 and #31, yes?

A Zoo Crew cartoon would be awesome, though I think they'd want to stay away from the characters based specifically on familiar DC superhero properties.

I'd also like to see an Ambush Bug cartoon, or at least an Ambush Bug appearance on an existing toon like Teen Titans or JLU.

Yes, that's how it appears.

With Geoff Johns writing it. Tis mean it will be an updated, more realistic Zoo Crew with plenty of rape and heroes being slaughtered and then served at McDonalds.

Nope.

Impulse/Kid Flash is a Captain Carrot fan, and the pages will be a comic-within-the-comic. There will be four pages in each issue that appear intermittently within the Teen Titans story, simultaneously telling a Captain Carrot story and commenting on the action in the Titans story.

The Captain Carrot story is itself a satire of Crisis, Secret War, Identity Crisis and other such big event stories, and it includes a murder mystery; a character has been killed and the Zoo Crew has to figure out who did it. Based on what I've seen so far, it's very good and very funny.

So it's not a separate story at the back of the book. It's a story within the story.

No rape, not realistic, only one death (off-panel), and it's pure Scott Shaw! goodness with a Geoff Johns script. Trust me on this one.

I have the complete Captain Carrot run somewhere in my one of my unsorted boxes. I was totally taken in and deeply disappointed last year by the Wizard Capatin Carrot April Fool's day hoax.

This is indeed good news.

I don't trust anything by Geoff Johns. I will pass.

Frogzilla, Jailhouse Roc, Kongaroo, Digger O'Doom, Armordillo...

Them's some quality villians!

I miss the Zoo Crew something fierce and can't WAIT for these issues of Titans.

Especially considering the Shaw! says it will be a parody of the "Grim N' Gritty" that started with Watchmen and Dark Knight.

Then there were the JLA villians...

Lex Lemur
The Porker
Feline Faust
The Shaggy Dawg
Amazoo

I was dissappointed that there was no Simian Grundy.

Pop over to Oddball and ask Scott! He'll tell you what he thinks of it. He's honest that way.

Anyway, even if you have doubts, buy it. If the book sells well, DC may bring it back. We have to show them that this is what we want, and we have to show them with money; it's the only language they speak.

I actually was one of the folks that bought Zoo Crew... it was a great read.

I think it was ahead of its time, really, and thats why it failed before.

I would _SO_ buy a new series.

the Zoo Crew/ Justa' Lotta Animals team-up had covers that parodied the JLA/JSA team-up of a few months before. My favorite Captain Carrot covers.

I am never, ever, ever going to buy another book by Johns again.

One of my favorite Captain Carrot stories was the Oz Wonderland War. Man that was an underappreciated mini series. They even explained why a raven was like a writing desk.

I can't decide which is my favorite name, Stacked Canary, Martian Anteater, Firestork or Hawkmoose.

I'm leaning toward Hawkmoose.

I was disappointed with the Oz-Wonderland War, it felt a bit labored, and didn't capture the magic of any of the casts. In general, the issues without Scott Shaw! I found lacking.

I was a pretty steady reader of Captain Carrot back in the day (didn't they run a preview in DC Comics Presents--seems like I remember a story where they met Superman).

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this. The original artist on it and I expect Johns to have a lot of fun with it.
