Well, there's not that much to tell, really. Some vagrant was in the store when I arrived. He tried to sell me some meat he claimed he had. I told him I wasn't interested and further advised him that peddling isn't allowed on the premises. Then he began asking customers for money/and/or a lift to another part of town, so I told him to leave the store. He went outside and proceeded to harass yet more customers.

One of these customers was an employee of a nearby automobile dealership whose vehicles we service. He didn't take to being harassed, lost his temper and threatened to beat the crap out of the guy. At this point, I decided to deal more firmly with the guy, so I had my employer call the police. We were both surprised when they actually showed up in only a few moments (sometimes they never respond at all). My employer had to argue with the guy when he tried to come back into the store, managing to calm him down by calling him a cab.

Anyhow, the police and the cab arrived roughly at the same time. The idoit was told to get off the property. Don't know why the cabbie agreed to take the guy to wherever he wanted to go. I wouldn't have let that crazy nutter in my car. A few hours later, I get a call from the police, asking me for a description of the guy (which seemed like a somewhat odd request to me, since he'd been eyeballed by two cops already), so I rather suspect that he did NOT pay the cabbie at the end of his trip.

Retail work in a city full of complete loons. Gotta love it.
