With Daredevil completely full on his uniforms except the last one, Spider-Man is in for me in UA. I have the black suit. Despite not having him in almost at all before, he has massive amount of body. That's even before the suit boosting the max health midway.

He has as much health as Iron Man and Thor do, and they has been in the entire time. I tried taking out Thor out, but Ghost Rider simply can't fill Thor's shoes.

Though some characters have more things than others.

I just wish that Iron Man would get some new equipment. I have gotten one thing specifically for him through 3 1/5 times through the game.

All of whom are compared at first to Walter Johnson. It is hard to compare eras but it can be done. From an all-around standpoint, the group you mentioned probably had better stuff. It certainly is no dishonor to say that he is top 5 of all time but I contend that he is better than Ryan and Clemens. Clemens doesn't even crack the top 5 pitchers of all time. The development of the role of the starting pitcher has had that effect.

Walter didn't have that great a curve ball, but had the fast gas ever seen according to the people who played against him. Ty Cobb, Napoleon Lajolie, Sam Crawford, etc.

The dude would probably have at least Cy Young's total amount of victories at least if he wasn't playing for such a shitty team for most of his career. If he was playing for the Tigers, guy would have won at least 35 games every year. Johnson has 67 career 1-0 losses. More shutouts than anyone in the game.

As you can tell, I have a very large respect for the players of the Deadball Era.

Yeah. It's a damn shame when GREAT Players stay on shitty teams, Bob Lanier and Pete Maravich are two examples.

For the greatness of Johnson I just think Koufax and Gibson are better. Bob, because he so damned good, made MLB lower the pitcher mounds to hieght they are today. And Koufax at his Best was a Monster, any era, and time, any place, if it was Game 7 I would give him the nod. 4 no-hitters and one that was perfect? Chirst if he was only on todays Yankees.

Indeed. There aren't many better than Johnson.

Reading some of what Johnson did in his early years, I would classify it as crazy. I'm only to about page 100 and I've read about him striking 27 guys out in a 15 inning game that got called for exhaustion, pitching 3 shutouts over a 4 day stretch against the Highlanders (Yankees), etc. The first 3 years of his Major League career is just...insane.

It's like reading Cobb, the book before last I read. The feats that he was pulling off on the field were simply amazing. Over what I have studied, I don't think there is anyone who comes close to Cobb in terms of overall ability. Anytime, anywhere.

Verily. Guy was the definition of a racist, sexist bastard but he is the best hitter ever. The old days were never good, and there are many ways to grow up in the game like the way it was. Becoming a vile bastard is one of those ways.

Yeah, but did you see Mark Cuban's response.

I guess you have earned the right to criticize Dirk with an obvious display of your own leadership skills.

I know Shaq appreciates your leadership as well. He called out your team a few weeks ago saying it was "embarassing'. Great leadership DWade. Your coach sat players for being fat. I guess you couldnt lead them away from the buffet.

You are an amazing player Dwayne. I love watching you shoot free throws. What you know about Dirk's leadership skills is non existent. You don't have a clue. Your ability to evaluate leadership skills....well you obviously have an overinflated value of your own. Did you take business classes at Marquette ?

Now we know why Charles won't put you in his 5.

"It's a guy's opinion, man," Johnson said. "He's won. He's the champion. Everyone's trying to dethrone them. ... When you win, I guess you can say whatever you want to say."

It may look like he is issuing a non-statement, he is isn't. That is a major statement.

Dude, two things.

1) I've been sick and out of it for awhile.

1) I didn't forget your birthday, really. I thought it was MARCH 5th, not February 5th, and for that I apologize.

Now then, it may not seem like much, but Happy Birthday Dog.:)

*Hands him the thing he's wanted most in the whole world*.

Yeah sorry bout that Dog.

Happy Birthday!

*Gives him double of all the things he's wanted*

*showers Dog with gifts and concubines in apology*

Well, thank you all for the belated birthday things, and apologies accepted for all of you.

If I was an in-game character, I'd buy it.

Some interesting points that I saw in Scoop Jackson's (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=jackson/070208) column when I read it...

The Jordan Brand All-American Classic in the Garden (April 21) outshining the McDonald's All-American game. After years in D.C. and last year in MSG, Jordan's high school showcase is going to be the fly game to play in since Sonny Vaccaro deadened the EA Classic and the Nike and adidas summer camps are (reportedly) history. The players are going to want to be down with Mike and from now on his game in NYC is going to be where they start.

Pau Gasol getting traded to an Eastern Conference team: New Jersey? Miami? The Bulls? Seriously, Gasol is going to wind up somewhere and have an impact instant as grits. It's just a question of which team? And how soon?

he Celtics and the Sixers trying to lose games to better themselves in the Greg Oden lottery ... only neither will get the first pick. Boston will probably finish first, Philly third. But the last turned at the lottery will be Memphis, which will make the Grizzlies the winner of...

• The Kevin Durant lottery. Because Greg Oden is not coming out.

Shaq getting mad and playing like its 1999. He will bring back the pain like he's 28 again (or like he did for two games against the Bulls in last year's playoffs), putting up those 23/10 numbers that everyone thought he couldn't anymore. But it probably won't be enough for the champs to repeat. But it might be enough to put them back (at least) into the Eastern Conference finals.

The Lakers being that one team no one wants to face in the first round of the playoffs. They could be the team to stop that historic final four from happening. Phil's in the final year of his contract, LO is back and Kobe has to live down last year's Game 7 against Phoenix. Think it can't happen?

The Jordan XX2, D-Wade's Converse 2.0 and Nike AF25 Premium all hit the streets around the same time. It's going to be interesting to see which shoe comes out on top. In basketball (and in the shoe game) the release of the new Jordans has always been major, and it's never been challenged. But this year the XX2 is going to have direct retail competition. The AF25 has history and another Wieden and Kennedy "classick" commercial, the Wade 2.0 has the shoeheads (and even some NBA players) saying this shoe could be his Jordan III moment, the one that begins an era. Pay attention, this could be more intriguing than "Grey's Anatomy" going up against "CSI" at the beginning of the TV season.

D-Wade will make second-team all-defense. This is what's going to begin the process of him really being considered the "next" Jordan. What he did in the Finals last year was Step 1. What he's doing on the court this year has been Step 2. And once he gets the official recognition as a defensive threat (one that LeBron, Melo and Nash don't have, and one Kobe seems to be losing) it's only going to be a matter of time (like the beginning of next season) before the man who can't get in Charles Barkley's five will be considered without peer -- and hold the title as the best player alive not named Michael Jordan.

Isiah Thomas actually receiving Coach of The Year votes. The fact that Eddy Curry backed him like he did helps, but the honesty of the situation in New York will sink in as the season goes on. The Knicks will push for a playoff spot and writers will respect that. They will realize that Isiah was able to get more out of these players than Larry Brown. That alone will stand for something.

Very interesting predictions...

Devon C.
02-11-2007, 06:26 PM
The Isiah Thomas one seems most likely. If he could make Eddy Curry half-decent, I mean, what can he NOT do? Wade Duck is good, (too soon to call him Mike 2.0) but from what I've seen of Miami's more recent games, he's been slipping a bit.
