Well i mean we do that here, but its just taking us a little while to gte used to a chat thread, i mean in time, i dunno maybe things can gel the way they used to.
Oh we'll all gel, but not like we used to. That was a different time, and that's all gone, for better or for worse, there's no way back.

Well then we start a new one, im not letting Rumbles go on like it never had a past, the fact is it did, good parts and bad parts, lets learn from that, lets make this Rumbles into something more, into a Family.

Anyway, I think Trystenn was essentially right. This board *is* a family, at least, the long-term members are. Not that we're elitist (people have made this argument before, and I don't think it holds water) but because when you spent so much time around certain friends and bond so closely over certain things, you know, you just can't help but feel really close in a family-kinda-way to them. You know, people come and go -- I miss Genma and DK and Airshark and Slayven and Chuck and Tanith -- but at the core this board is a family, of sorts.
There's something tangible there, it just moves and evolves so often it's hard to pin down, is all.

You know, the people here now aren't gonna be here in six months time, and that's a little saddening.
I mean, I'll be here forever, I've been a part of this forum for the better half of a decade. But it'll all change eventually. New people will show up, current posters will leave, and it'll all be different again.

However, when you keep hearing about how great the Third Age was (I'm not saying they weren't) and the True SO, etc. It gets kinda difficult to post with the same vigour as before.

Well, Genma and Dk still show up a bit. And Airshark pops in from time to time.
Still, the golden age of Rumbles is long over. Chuck's banning was just the bullet in the head to make sure it was dead.
In retrospect, I think the vastly stricter rules imposed starting with the beggining of the fourth age was where it really started.

Well, Genma and Dk still show up a bit. And Airshark pops in from time to time.
But back in the Third Age, all three of them were massive posters. DK was the fourth most prolific poster in SO, IIRC.
Still, the golden age of Rumbles is long over. Chuck's banning was just the bullet in the head to make sure it was dead.
In retrospect, I think the vastly stricter rules imposed starting with the beggining of the fourth age was where it really started.
