Guess how many cavities I've got.
G'wan, guess!
Although they aren't the biggest deal. The Really Bad Thing is that my lower right Wisdom Tooth is actually lying SIDEWAYS and has to come out, which will require a specialist.
Ouchie.

Same here. Oral surgery, here I come.
Dunno if I've ever known anyone else with a sideways wisdom tooth before. Do you also have a birth mark on... Nevermind.
Um, Thursday! You have Thursday cavities!

About a month ago, I had to have a surgical extraction on a old root canal filled tooth that had given up the ghost.
All I can say is that the best form of painkiller comes in a bottle and has the words "Glen" and "fiddich" on the front.

We got to go for Ice Cream last night because I was a big boy and did not cry at the dentist.
It's true, too, I didn't.
At least, not until I saw the bill.

Well, interesting fact, Tot, Suzannah, and I all have a birthmark in the same spot on our shoulder.

Wow, that's a horrible coincidence. Guess where I'm going in thirty minutes? You guessed right. The Dentist. For how many fillings? 12.
Granted, I haven't been to the dentist in 6 years. And don't floss. And sometimes (okay, frequently) forget to brush at night (but always brush in the morning). Yep, I pretty much earned those 12.
At least that's all I'm getting. Small ones too, not giant gaping holes that lead to other dimensions.
And I have no wisdom teeth at all! Hurray for never having to have that kind of pain.

I had to have 2 teeth pulled last summer..... they became infected... I was lucky that the infection was contained within the tooth, so NO root canal... but there was NO pain when I had those 2 teeth pulled..... I did have pain killers & frezzing...... and once they sew you up, its just gaze on the area where the tooth once was to prevent the blood from spilling everywhere..... after 2 hours of that .... done!

I actually had two. Well, three if you count the one growing from the wrong part of the jawbone...

THe usual sources, Tobin's Spirit Guide.
Now the real question is why that line came to mind?
But seriously, mostly image searches. In this case, one on bad teeth.

Nobody post the Byrne pic, please.
I'm getting four wisdom teeth pulled and maybe another tooth too come December 12th.
I wish they could just swap my mouth out for dead person's or give me bionic teeth.
I don't do blood very well.
On the upside, it looks like I've got things lined up for the dentist and the surgeon in one day and they understand where I'm coming from. I'm gonna be doped up on morphine, hit with laughing gas and KOed all in one day.
It'll be kinda like being a secret agent.

I'm back...still alive, though the smell of the drill boring into my teeth almost sent me over the edge. We wound up doing six on the left side and saving the rest for another visit. Currently, I look like I stroked out because the left half of my mouth doesn't move when I talk.
I'm going to guess 9 cavities for you.
Advice for all the parents out there with little kids? Get sealants. I wish my parents had done that for me.

Apparently, impacted wisdom teeth affect math skills. That would be a 34.5.

Last time I went to the dentist, I had 1 cavity and my time between visits had been 8 years.
That stupid dentist patched up the cavity in such a bad way that he gave me a small infection (side of the jaw swelled) and, maybe 5-6 months after, the cavity reopened.
Which is why I need to go to the dentist. Typo, your example has inspired me. I'll set up an appointment for this week.
It also helps that I have a high-as-hell pain threshold. I could shrug off the pain of 2nd degree burns in my chest after 20 minutes. Dental work? Meh. I just wish I could read comfortably a magazine while the doctor works...

Both of my bottom two wisdom teeth were coming in sideways... Hurt like a mother father too. Getting them out was hell. I didnt get and anestesia like my friends... I was alert for the entire op. which even with being numbed, hurt and was kinda traumatic... I never liked the dentist. Now I fear it.(Not to freak you out about the wisdom teeth)

You got me there, I did not even think about that. So basically now all I can do is be glad I didnt let them grown in... I am betting that they hurt like hell.

And it's not going anywhere. (I think your dentist needs help on this month's car note.)

Actually, if I hadn't seen the screen, I'd not have known. I mean, I knew they hadn't grown in right, but this was not something I would have guessed.

My wife's 4 wisdom teeth were impacted or a good 30% larger than the space remaining, so she needed to have all removed.
My own wisdom teeth were not too problematic: 2 came out fine, third one didn't have space and had to be removed and the fourth one never formed.

That's how mine were. Most of them came out easily, but one took over two hours to remove. They had to cut away some of the gum when the tooth broke in half. By the end of the operation, my head was numb.
Then I got the bill.

I've only had one wisdom tooth removed and it can probably stay that way. Ha ha.
On the other hand, I had to have three root canals in an increasingly painful molar and still ended up losing the thing altogether and went through four years of braces/retainers when younger. And I have to sleep with a thing.
a flipped wisdom tooth seems fairly common (there was a better shot but I got the dreaded "page could not be found" when I tried to get the original image.
http://www.lafrom.com/images/impactedmolar.jpg
now my problem is my roots don't go straight down, they go off in opposited diagonals from the tooth, nor do they only have two root canals. The dentist had to break the wisdom teeth in two and then pry them out (all four). When I had gum surgery (yes, I have bad teeth - remember to floss and visit your dentist for cleanings, don't end up like me) one molar had to be extracted because the root casing had shattered. Turns out this molar had three roots all going everywhichway, he had to cut it out in three pieces. Lets hear it for being seriously medicated!

One of those night guards to keep you from grinding your teeth. So I don't get any more cracks that require super expensive crowns. Cut back on a lot of migraines too.
well. . i"m sorry you had cavities. . .
will you hate me if I tell you that I hadn't been to the dentist in almost 15 years when i finally went back in Jan.
No cavities, and the dentist told me my teeth were looking very good (better after cleaning), and that I must have had a great orthodontist.
I mentioned this to my Mother , and she asked me if I remembered who it was (I didn't) -- Michael Dell's Father.
yep . .
not only did i used to carpool w/ Michael Dell, but his dad was my Orthadontist. .
heh. . a "brush w/ sorta-greatness" that I didn't even know about

Both my bottom wisdom teeth came out sidesways. This actually made things easier for the dentist; after they injected me with 50 kinds of needle-ly numbing goodness, he basically hooked those suckers and dragged 'em out. I was conscious and alert for the whole thing. Great fun!
That was twelve years ago or so. I haven't been back since.
