Next sat. the 26th my friend is flying from AZ to Penn for a funeral. She has a 4 hr layover at the international airport in atlanta. I'm going down to meet her to basically hang out for 4 hrs. Crazy as it sounds but she is like my sister and I've not seen her in a year now. Anyone know of a good restaurant that we could hang out at for that time period near the marta line?
I'm not going to the airport, but I plan on meeting her at about 3pm. Maybe in the midtown to underground atlanta area. Anywhere north or south of that is fine also. I may have another friend with me but he's about as reliable as deoderant in the sahara. I don't plan on holding my breath but I won't rule him out completely. I'm going to be on a slight budget since I'm half done with christmas shoping now so about a mid range on price would be helpfull.
Oh anyone who wants to meet up with us and hang out also is more then welcome. The more the merrier in my opinion.

I'll ask Troy tomorrow if he knows of any and try to get back to you. I think we may be out of town that day visiting relatives, btw. I'm drawing a blank, except for the restaurants near or in the Dragoncon hotels. argh.

Cheesecake Factory or Micks. It's in downtown Atlanta, look it up online for directions. If I remember right it's near a station.
I lived there for 18 years so if your looking for any kind of food in particular lemme know.

If there's a Cheesecake Factory in Atlanta you MUST go. And unless you have a good reason, you MUST have a slice of cheesecake. The wife and I went to the one in Orlando and the cheesecake is divine.

I'm not from or in Atlanta, but I've been there many times. Last time Kristina and I visited Atlanta, we ate at this great Thai place. I think it was called Tamarind Thai Cuisine. It's right off Hwy. 85. Exceptional service, incredible food, and good prices too. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Cafe Intermezzo!
http://www.cafeintermezzo.com/
Café Intermezzo presents over 100 different tortes, tarts, cakes, pies and cheesecakes; scores of coffee beverages and other non-alcohol beverages; many hundreds of beverages with alcohol; and complete, international lunch and dinner menus with a plethora of offerings.
It's like somebody took my idea of heaven and made it into a cafe. And then, for kicks, stuck it on Peachtree Street in Atlanta so I'd get killed trying to get there.
Oh!
And out of curousity, any Dr. No's customers here? I'll be back in the area for Turkey Day and I'll probably be in on Friday.

I'm afraid I don't know if the MARTA line is close to it, but it's got great food at a great price, so I wanted to mention it. Contact info's above, but it was too early for me to call'em. You might want to give'em a call to get an idea of how close they are to MARTA.
Here's a switchboard map. Did you decide on a restaurant?
We visited Mary Mac's, again, during the holidays. I posted about it here (http://west3man.blogspot.com/2006/01/holiday-vacation-in-atlanta-mary-macs.html) write-up may not be TOO useful, but maybe the pix will help give you a feel for the place.
