And LOVED it. I was smiling almost the whole film. It may be the first sex comedy that doesn't hate one of the two genders.
Everyone was funny, and there are some terrific human moments, and the end slayed me.
What did you think?

Saw it in Miami last month and loved it.
The chest waxing scene was a hoot. No acting required!

I thought it was great.
Really funny, and it had some heart to it. And I related to their shady electronics salesperson jobs, because I have one.
It's by the guy who did Freaks And Geeks and Undeclared too, which are some of the funnier TV shows in recent years.

I'll give it a view when it's available here.
Re the chest wax scene, Carell said in an interview if you look closely, you can see beads of blood rising.
I'm glad they did it in one take.

Being a Mark Waid fanatic I know Cam said the same thing when it was out in the theaters. Also I remember Mark saying it was a documentary so I’m now confused and am about to take a trip on Google.

I loved this movie. It's now one of my all-time favorites. Saw it twice in the theater and bought the soundtrack. Very funny and realistic comedy, in my opinion.

Wow. I am impressed by Gail's discription of the movie, about it being fair to both genders. Being a single man in my late thirties, lets say i really didn't have a desire to see the movie,as i felt it sounded explotive. But now i will consider seeing it,but probably on DVD.
But one question...i thought gail went to see Chicken Little?

Great movie and it had a lot more heart to it than I expected. I thought it be one gross-out fest but it had a lot more to it.
On a side note, my mother-in-law took a friend's daughter to see this a while back. You have to picture this little woman who never says a single bit of profanity sitting throuh this movie to fully appreciate the situation. I can't imagine what she thought of it. :p

It comes out on dvd here on December 5th and I can't wait!
I remember on the thread when the movie came out YABSters put me on to Anchorman as a result, which has become one of my favourite ever comedies. Loved it.

I thought it was lots of fun, and surprisingly it was mostly good-natured fun. Certainly worth watching.

I've grown to despise those movies where the no friend geek gets shit on for the whole story and wins over everyone, ( including the girl, who in reality wouldn't tell him what day it is ) in the last 10 minutes.

I literally cried during the entire final scene, I was laughing so damn hard. But it has to be said that I laugh every single time I see the "afternoon delight" scene in "Anchorman" too. It is just one of those scenes that is so silly and random that I can't help it. So, when the end scene started in this movie...I just completely lost it. Tears streaming etc. And I am not usually a laugh-out-loud movie goer. I will own this movie...oh yes...it will be mine.

So, you're saying I should've seen it instead of that Hilary Duff movie ?

But it's not really that kind of movie. Andy wins over people because he actually makes an effort to, whereas before, he just cut himself off from people. A lot of what his friends tell him is what my friends have told me about approaching women. Of course a women's not going to want anything to do with you if you don't show any interest whatsoever.

the scene in the book store is a classic too, and the scene where his two mates are playing the computer game and calling each other gay, it sounds like a really conversation !

I stayed up until 11:30 pm last night to watch it. On a work night. When I have to get up at 5 am the next morning. And I don't deal well without eight hours of sleep.
And I have to say that it was worth it! :) The funniest thing that I've seen in a long time.

Yeah. I got it for christmas and finally got to watch it the other night. Stayed up late to watch it. Laughed so loud I almost woke up my kids. Was just as hilarious as the first time. This movie makes me happy.
