In the interview with Joe Quesda at Newsarama I could'nt help but reading that in 2006 the Onslaught saga is 10 years old. 10 years? it does'nt seem like that to me then again I got it in the UK collectors edition so its more like 8-7 years old from my viewpoint but still thats somthing huh?
Since the AoA got an similar treatment you think we'll be getting anything Onslaught related? An What If? An exiles story in an world where Onslaught ruled supreme? dare I say an possible return of Onslaught even (don't hurt me please I have family...hurt them). Or just the entire saga released in TPB form like the AoA is getting at the mo?
I know like most Marvel Mega Events, Onslaught got mixed responces so I assume most of you do as well? Anyway discuss and hopefully we might learn a little about ourselves and each other

I can see them re-issuing the series in TPB. And even having the Exiles pay a visit to Onslaught Earth. But please, dear god, do not bring back Onslaught to the 616! :p

I doubt they will.
It was a flop.
Why would they want to celebrate it?

Why would they want to celebrate it?
Same reason they celebrated the AOA. $$$$$$$. :D
Well yeah. And I totally didn't mind the AoA celebration. I was just getting into comics when they did that and I thought it was a pretty cool event. But I didn't think Onslaught was that good and it doesn't seem like it's worthy of a 10 year celebration.
Not every event deserves to be celebrated. What's next a Maximum Security celebration?

I liked Onslaught, But he was to damn hard to beat. It took every hero to kill him and if he comes back after that how the heck would they beat him again.

Marvel is out of ideas. Welcome to The House of Gimmicks.

Onslaught was a good villain, but the actual story "Onslaught" stunk.

If they do this, think they can work something out with Capcom to re-release the first Marvel VS Capcom game with some extra bells and whistles? :D
It sure was fun smacking down Onslaught with Ryu and his dragon punch.

Okay I don't know about a return... but a TPB would be cool. But if it took all the Heroes in the MU to beat him in 616. What can the Exiles do ta beat him, especially if they have no mega power key players like Telepaths.

Now that I think about it, I don't think the fact that the Exiles are visiting the Heroes Reborn Earth as the final stop on their World Tour is a coincidence.

Same here, and I quite liked the story. It could have been handled better tho methinks.
But why on earth do a 10 year anniversary?? The AoA 10-year shtick was bad enough thankyouverrahmuch.
This may sound like a radical move, but howzabout the guys at Marvel get some new ides for once?

The AoA mini was brutal... if they just collected the crossover in Hardcovers though I'd get that.

Was Onslaught only a year after AoA? Man...I musta stopped collecting comics only a few months after the end of AoA. I thought I'd lasted longer than that.

It's entirely up to Marvel. They're the ones who chose not to continue the licensing deal with Capcom and their deal with Activision actually prevented Capcom from adding additional content to the PS2/Xbox ports of Marvel Vs Capcom 2. Online play and extra characters were planned by Capcom and scrapped because of Marvel and Activision.

I remember the buildup to Onslaught being really long, so maybe it's almost ten years from that. I wouldn't mind having an Onslaught T-shirt. Just 'cause. But other than that, they should let him rest.

Marvel licensing sucks. Seriously, they basically go to the highest bidder (Activision, EA, Microsoft, THQ... Capcom can't compete with that financially) with little consideration to the quality of content.

Right, I've heard enough about Marvel Nemesis to know that it's a pretty sub-par game, and X-Men: Next Dimension was just ok, nothing spectacular, although admittedly some of the Spider-Man Games, the recent Hulk game, and the X-Men Legends games have been fun, I am suprised, given how popular the Vs series seemed to be in arcades (and I certainly remember some crowds around Marvel Superheroes and X-Men: Children of the Atom) that Marvel didn't try and keep some basic relationshi with them.
Of course, there's also the stuff they put the people who created X-Assualt through.

I dunno about anyone else, but I'm gonna celebrate the 10 anniversary of Onslaught by pretending it never happened.

This is OT, but is there anywhere you can still play X-Assault? Did Marvel wipe it off the internet? I'd love to check it out.

That is KIND of how business works. And it's not as though it hasn't paid off for them. Sure, Marvel Nemesis wasn't that good, but the Spiderman and X-Men games have been great. Infact, Marvel just extened their relationship with Activision through 2017!
And yes, Capcom CAN compete with that, they're on of the 5 biggest publishers in the world. They chose NOT to compete as they moved their focus on to other things. When was the last time they released a NEW fighting game anyway?
