I was recently re-reading Nightwing Year One and it got me thinking, which characters have had Year One stories done (Not counting the series of annuals done a few years back...I'm talking multi-issue storylines either as part of a series or a miniseries onto itself)
Off hand I know of.... (in no particualar order)

Batman Year one (I believe this was the first)
Nightwing
Batgirl
Guy Gardner

I assume there are more...anybody know of them and which ones are worth reading?

Mark Waid's first arc on Wally West Flash was a Year One IIRC.

JLA had a Year One mini, also written by Waid.

I remember liking both, but the Flash one better.

Superman For All Seasons was kind of a Year One project.

Superman For All Seasons was kind of a Year One project. As were BIRTHRIGHT and Byrne's MAN OF STEEL.

GREEN LANTERN: EMERALD DAWN I & II are pretty much "Hal Jordan: Year One" stories.

Batman had "Year Two" and "Year Three" stories (the latter being Robin's origin). Catwoman had a "Year Two" as well.

Batman's had alot of Year One's, with loads of different characters, eg. Huntress, Scarecrow, Ra' Al Ghul.

Lest we forget, all of the DC titles one year had a "Year One" annual.

Since Batman already has a Year One, each of his four annuals spotlighted a different villain. Poison Ivy in Shadow, Riddler in Detective, Scarecrow in Batman, and Man-Bat in LotDK. All but the last have since been retconned. :)

The Superman titles went about it a different way. All of his annuals took place during his Year One, and each one focused on a different story. In one he met Kalibak and learned of Apokolips, in another he faced his first magical foe, and in a third he encountered Earth's other heroes for the first time (first individually and then as the JLA).

Other characters who didn't even have series were given "Year One" annuals, including Doomsday and Shadowdragon.

Green Arrow: The Wonder Year was an Ollie Queen Year One stoy. The Hawkworld miniseries was Katar Hol's Year One.

And just to note, the Year One Annuals for Legion of Super-Heroes V4 and Legionnaires were the culmination for the storyline running through those titles from the zero issues onwards.

Essentially those issues, up until the Annauls, were a Year One story for the Reboot Legion.

The Unofficial Crossover Index (http://members.tripod.com/~MitchellBrown/xover/dc_yearone.html) has a list of them all.

They have? Doggone it. When did they retcon Riddler's?

And the fourth (I had to look this up) was about his first trip into space.

Not unlike the Legion situation, the annual for "The Ray" was just a major story for that title, since the series was fairly young and the character had already essentially had a Year One treatment in his introductory mini-series.

And as for 'Year One' stories, I have just one to add to the pile:

Aquaman: Time & Tide by Peter David

Catwoman #1-4 by Mindy Newell is Catwoman: Year One.

Well, maybe I exaggerate a bit in Riddler's case. :) It just seems like the current status of the Riddler is that he's a genuine genius, whereas Dixon's story suggested that his skills lay more in cheating than actual puzzle-solving.

Robin has had a year one mini, a year one annual, a year 3 Batman story (which would be Robin's year 1), and All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder is also meant to act as a Robin year 1 story. I guess they like retelling that story. :D

Batman's Year One was actually during his regular series.

Were you asking for stories that were specifically titled "Year One?" CATWOMAN #1-4 was a mini-series and was not titled "Year One" (when it was put into trade paperback, it was called "Her Sister's Keeper," though that never appeared on the covers of the original series).
