Just a thought but...

Would it be fair to suggest that the JLA (which just disbanded) was at the same point in their career, age-wise, as the JSA was when they disbanded...?

It never occured to me but...

Superman has been active roughly 12-14 years, DCU time.

Which IS about the same point he was at in REAL TIME when the JSA would have disbanded.

I never thought about this before but I think there's a strong parallel there that will be a MAJOR part of the Crisis story.

And I even have a sneaky feeling that Didio is being so coy about whether there will be a JLA after Crisis because... heh...

Well, think of it this way:

The Golden Age had the Justice SOCIETY.

The Silver Age had the Justice LEAGUE.

I wonder if when all is said and done, we'll have a new "Justice" team and a new age taken from the brain of Grant Morrison.

Dear god I hope they don't put Grant Morrison in charge of a new 'Justice' team, because if it's anything like his last few works I read it'd be full of conspiracies by inteligent bacteria that has been plotting since the end of time to kill Superman even before Krypton was existance because his time traveling twin that he killed in the womb told them when destroying the philosopher stone for no good reason. Sorry i just don't understand the constant worship of that man, his wrighting (other than his first arc on JLA) has been just average in my opinion.

It's an interesting idea, starting a new 'Justice' team, but who would be on it considering that the JLA and JSA both started with charcters that had never been on another team and really why bother to disband the JLA if there will be a new team considering the JSA and JLA co-exist quite nicely

Heh.

One can never get enough out of Grant "What the hell was he smoking?" Morrison.

Interesting idea, and one that I also considered after reading the parallels in IC#2.

Personally, I'd love to see a new Justice team. I think Justice League Unlimited has shown a really interesting model of how the new Justice team could work.

So if things do go this way, what does everyone think they would call the new Justice team? Following the original poster's line of thought, I don't think they should stick with JSA or JLA or it'd just be a continuation of those teams, right? I vote for it NOT being "Justice Friends". :D

Well...

It has to be a buzzword.

The 40s was very conscious of society and societies. People in that era joined clubs and were socially conscious.

The 60s "League" had a UN feel to its name, cannotating the "League of Nations".

Thoughts on a new name:

The Justice Pact (Too secretive?)

The Justice Coalition (Too wordy?)

The Justice Brigade? The Justice Squad? (Something that evokes police or firefighters? Something non-threatening in a millitary sense but which suggests service?)

The Justice Corps? (Only if you think of Peace Corps)

I think "Brigade" is the best choice so far. What would you go for if we had a third "Justice" team?

Interesting.

But I think the cartoon has pretty much cemented the "Justice League" name...the "of America" part is probably gone though...or at least it should be. I know most of the team is American, but maybe its time to cast the net a little wider in terms of who the team represents.
