Some interesting information. It's good to see Levitz return to writing. Those Preez pencilled pages featuring the Earth 2 World's Finest duo look beautiful. Guess this might be why the Gentleman Ghost was featured on the cover to IC#2. Nice to see that Rags will be drawing the next five issues with Levitz.

This is really great news.
Paul Levitz is one of the great comic writers of all time, and a man who never quite seems to get his props for all the great work that he's done. His original run on All-Star Comic is still my favorite JSA series of all time.
It was a nice surprise. I thought Levitz was just writing February's IC tie-in. But, he's also doing the 5 issues after that. Cool! It sounds like a good story with some great art (not only Perez and Rags, but also Luke Ross for a bit). This is definately something to look forward to.

Oh geez , this seems to suggest all the golden age stories are back to canon status and Earth 2 is coming back after IC. Is this a return of the multiverse where JSA and JLA are on seperate earths again ?!
I don't think we have enough info to say what is or is not happening in IC. The preview pages looked like they were on Pre-Crisis Earth-Two in the 1950's. But that doesn't have to mean that the multiverse is officially coming back. Levitz is just exploring a past story from that time.
But I'm just playing devil's advocate.

Do we know yet if Geoff Johns is coming back to the title??
I've really been enjoying his work on JSA.
Keith Champagne's been great so far, and well, I'm sure I'll like Levitz (I enjoyed his Legion stuff).... but I'm really going to miss Geoff on the title.... he'll have been gone for 8 months!

Levitz said that this is just to help Geoff out. He felt bad about handing him such a huge project like 52, so he offered to take over if Geoff needed some fill-in help. It's the same reasons why Gail Simone wrote Titans for a couple issues and why Keith Campaigne is doing a 3-issue JSA arc. Geoff will probably be back after Levitz is done.
Also, Geoff is writing January's JSA issue between the Champaigne and Levitz arcs.

Superman didn't have white hair and Lois didn't look that old in the 50s.
I'd keep an eye on the solicitation for IC #3 for a clue as to what Batman is doing back among the living. :)
I can see where some of this is going now.

Wow Levitz coming back and writing JSA.
Its like Hitchcock coming back and directing thrillers again.
When I go do my usual comic run tomorrow I'm putting this on my list.

The pages aren't necessarily consecutive. The Superman/Batman pages are clearly a 50s flashback (note the newspaper headline and Superman's lack of white hair). It seems like the present day Kal-L is remembering a past adventure with his Batman.

Heck, it looks to me like the good ol' boys are back for good. I'd love it if the Huntress was Catwoman's daughter again.
Will Dr. Fate get his arms back? (http://www.photontorpedoes.com/archives/2005/11/suddenly_dr_fat.php)

I actually think they are consecutive. I think if you look at the two pictures of Superman flying from Lois' perspetive, you will see he looks younger in the lower picture. I think those two panels are the transition from the modern day to the flashback.

According to that panel of the Day of Vengeance: Infinite Crisis Special, it seems as if Nabu will be in power up until the end of the crisis. It looks like there will be a new host next year. Too bad too, I thought Geoff Johns had the perfect Dr. Fate......is it just me or did Hector Hall not get enough play time as the hero? Seems that after JSA #50 (two years ago!), he's been in battle with Nabu and that's about it.
Way to go for DC to mimic the Kingdom Come version though ;)

I agree. Here's how I read it:
Page 1: Ma Hunkle and Powergirl (or maybe Jesse Quick) find a note pad in the JSA museum. They look kind of shocked when they read what's on it.
Page 2: Cuts to E2 Lois writing in that same pad. She's probably writing something about a past adventure featuring E2 Supes and Batman. She looks out the window, sees Superman, then remembers back to the 50's, when he was a much younger man. This leads into the flashback on page 3.
Levitz is a classy guy and one of the best semi-retired creators in the business.
I'd like to see him pproduce his own writing for comics book, as a companion piece to Denny O'Neil's DC trade.
