? It was in the very first issue. The "all the men are dead" thing. They all bled out the nose and ears. It was yucky.

I never read Y.... but,

One of the things I loved about New X-men was how hardcore Jean looked when she was doing some crazy shit like holding Xaviers mind or piecing it back together etc and her eyes would start bleeding. Nothing cooler.

Blood from the eyes (and taking like a damn champ) = Way Hardcore= JEAN GREY!!!!

Amatuers. Everyone knows that shopping carts are good for jousting.

(and by this i mean... driving in your car while your passenger holds a shopping cart by his door, and there's another oncoming car doing the same. Then you both let go at the same time and.. BOOM! Good times.)

I may never get what I want
But I'm happy just to die trying
And I hope I ain't done nobody wrong
But I miss you smiling
And I'm looking for a cure cause I'm bored to tears
And I'm stuck in here, stuck out here, stuck in here

We lived through another day
It's a good excuse to celebrate
Take a number knock on wood
We'll find a reason to feel good

I know you know I wanna know how I feel
I can't even tell

No one knows nothing about me
I'm guessing I'll just keep 'em guessing
No one sees what I see
This is my blessing
And I'm looking for a way to get out of here
Get me out of here, out of here, out of here

We lived through another day
It's a good excuse to celebrate
Take a number knock on wood
Find a reason to feel good
I know you know you wanna know how I feel
I can't even tell

I'm out of here, out of here, out of here
I know you know I want to know how I feel
I can't tell
I know you know I'll tell you if it's real
It sounded like a bell
I can't even tell
I can't even tell

DV8, Wildcats and Stormwatch in the Marvel U? How awesome that would be.

It doesn't matter if either company decides to merge them with their main universe. I like my Wildstorm seperate of the rest. But with Majestic and Captain Atom so close before Crisis... Let's just say Captain Marvel and Blue Beetle used to have their own universes why they mattered before a Crisis as well...

I agree with Monica being WW, even though the movie would suck. Monica is in her 40's but she looks young enough to pass for a woman in her 30's. And her body(not sure about the face though)is 100% un-cosmetical surjury touched, unlike the 100's of plastic bodied American actresses.

Man, I've never seen DDM so rabid at going after someone before. He's really beating on poor Mr. Brubaker. Frankly until the man gives reason to be swatted, people should lay off on screaming about a storyline they don't even know the facts to yet. But then, when has that stopped most folks. :pSeriously. I thought that was part of the game here at CBR. You're required to bash on something you don't know about at least once a month.

I thought I should clarify that last statement as it has absolutley nothing to do with this awful movie.

In the newspaper everyday, they list the names of the sex offenders who have moved into Arlington. As sex offenders, they have to register and be listed in the paper. And it always says stuff under their pictures, like Joe Schmoe is a first level offender and will definitely continue to offend.

Well why the hell are you letting him live 10 minutes from my house?!

This is the question I would like answered. I stopped reading the paper because it made me too paranoid.

Now, back to this movie. GAH. The gross factor is more than I can stand.

Ebert actually liked this movie. I no longer have any faith what-so-ever in Ebert. He is calling it a "gaudy, vomitorium of a movie. Violent, nauseating and really a pretty good example of the genre. Deliberately disgusting...blah blah, may exercise a strange charm. If on the other hand, you close your eyes if a scene gets icky, here is movie to see with blinders on, because it starts at icky and descends relentlessly thru the depraved and nauseating to the embrace of roadkill. How can I possibly give The Devil's Rejects a favorable review? A kind of heedless zeal transforms it's horrors. The movie is not merely disgusting, but has an attitude and a subversive sense of humor. It's actor's venture into camp satire, but never seem to know it is funny. Their sincerity gives the jokes a kind of solemn cackle. Consider the fact that it is about a depraved family of mass murders, who name themselves after Groucho Marx characters and that the sheriff calls in a film critic to give him insights into their pathology."

I fail to see the humor. AT ALL.

I know. I lived in a small town. Every little thing was in the paper. DUI, domestic dispute, etc.

But in this case, these are major league sex offenders and the paper is required to print the info. I swear to you at least 6 sex offenders move to Arlington every day. This puzzles me. Either the number of sex offenders has risen to unbelieveable levels, or Arlington is doing some serious recruiting.

Wow, that's harsh. I just went after four characters- Emma Frost, Hellion, Beak and Pete Wisdom. I feel bad about Beak- a little- but didn't think his Exiles presence was worth it.

So, anyway, fan fave in Excalibur/X-Factor... um, *lies* everyone loves... Aquaman. Yeah, he's on that thread, right? Promoting that PS2 game of his.

Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire kicked the week 3rd movie's cgi-butterfly-covered ass!!!

And the Superman teaser looked really good on the big screen. Didn't get much of a response from the audience though.

Also, the scene in the newer Kong trailer where Kong jumps up to swat at the bi-plane while he's on top of the Empire State Building is so cool.

CayWe didn't get the Superman trailer. I wonder why.

Cay, did you read the book ahead of time? If so, do you think you would've found the movie coherent if you hadn't? Ever since Columbus left, it seems like all the motivations and explanations have been swept away. Still, I agree, much better than PoA.

Because it's not an attached trailer, just a suggested one. Theaters get a list of trailers that the studios want on the movie when they have the same movie in multiple theaters. Like, Harry potter in theater 1 gets list A while the one in theater 2 gets list B. The Superman Returns trailer might just be on list A.

I know this from being a a theater manager/projectionist for a while a few years back.

Ah. Thanks. That almost makes sense, but I would've imagined that they'd want to drum up the Superman film, at least over the Happy Feet or Over the Hedge. Maybe tomorrow we'll see it in IMAX. I do wish they were using the larger SHIELD. But then, I'd make Alex Ross the consultant for the look of EVERY comic book character transcribed to the movies. Not the story editor, but definitely would love him on visuals.

It really doesn't make all that much sense. Putting an Aeon FLux trailer in front of a Harry Potter movie doesn't seem like the best idea. Back when I was putting the movies together, I'd throw out the list and use whatever trailers we had that made sense for the audience.

Yes,it is. The author has also written two other such books based on fairy tales, like Cinderella and A Christmas Carol(Dickins). Each book tells the story from an unlikely person, like in Cinderella re-telling, it is the "evil" step-sister and I think the Dickins re-telling is by Marley's Ghost. The Dickins re-telling is titled Lost and I believe the Cinderella one is titled The Confessions of a Evil Step Daughter or something like that.
