View Full Version : IC at the LCS

Yesterday, I made a brief mention of my LCS not getting IC#2. When I asked the proverbial "comic book guy", he told me the book wasn't released yet. He said the same for Aquaman #36, too.
Hmm.
I asked if it would be released next week... he flipped through his order forms and whatnot, looked at me, and said: "Nope. Not next week, either."
Hmm.
Today, I go back to the LCS when I know the owner will be behind the counter. Interestingly enough, I receive the same answers.
Everything is cool, since I went ahead and ordered the book online (strange thing is that when I told the LCS guys that I had done this, they said I wouldn't be getting it for a few weeks).
What I'm wondering is if anyone else, or their shop, didn't receive the book yesterday? I'm just floored at my LCS guys responses. Is it possible that the book didn't ship in my area, or...

I'd say your LCS is incompetant. I haven't heard anyone in any other threads on forums I frequent have the same problem. It was on Diamond's final shipping list and is on DCs website as having been released. They screwed up.

Since this is a major book, with serious ramifications to the DCU, I'd say they more than screwed up, lol.
Here's to hoping someone has the same problem! Hmm, that doesn't sound quite right, does it? :D

I spoke to my shop yesterday and they said it came in. I'll know for sure this weekend.

I have no doubt the book arrived, and hope you enjoy it!
The thing bothering me is that the issue is available to order, fans are talking about it in storms on the net, it's confirmed on other LCS shelves, and my comic guys are acting... ignorant. I guess that's the part that bugs me. How can they not know such a big issue is coming out? I felt kinda goofy going in there, today, and hearing their spiel. Jeez.

Are they buying? What's the term...surplus? We had a LCS near here that tried to do that to save money. Their stuff was constantly late and they tried pawnig it off as if its normal. Needless to say they went out of business.
Diamond did not ship Identity Crisis to my LCS yesterday, although the book was on his order list. Diamond is the problem.

Ah ha! Someone else with the problem. Hate to hear it, though.
Any idea on how your store is handling it?

My LCS will get his books either during the week or next Wednesday with his other orders.

I have to show up Wednesdays at my local shop.
The retailer doesn't do pull lists and his estimations are off on demand for certain books.
If I don't get it Wednesday, I might not get it at all.

Sure did.
Got it. Read it. Blew my mind. Irritated the hell out of Mrs Hod by talking about it on the bus ride home.

I always go to my LCS at noon after class on Wednesdays. That is between classes. I have one getting over at 11:50 and the next is at 2 pm. The store is 10 minutes away.
I get there early as possible to make sure to pick up what I want and look around before I have to get back to campus for class.
I have a box in the store. I currently have 11 regular titles that get pulled for me. I get there early to make sure I get my minis and stuff that isn't on my pull list and possible tie ins that are not on my pull list.

I dropped in at my LCS somewhere around 1 PM on Wednesday, when they'd only been open for about 2 hours. They had plenty of copies of #2. Didn't even occur to me, until I read this thread, that anyone running an LCS might not have gotten their copies of #2 in time for the Wednesday rush of regular customers.

I'm not accusing your LCS, but I know a few retailers who have used the "Diamond didn't ship it" excuse in the past to cover up their mistakes.
