Gunpowder Press is proud to announce its new title The Black Coat, is being published by Speakeasy Comics. The Black Coat starts off with a 4 issue mini-series entitled “A Call to Arms,” that will be available in early 2006. The book will be written by Adam Cogan and Ben Lichius, with incredible artwork by Francesco Francavilla and letters by Chris Studabaker.

The Black Coat is an exciting tale of espionage and occult adventure set in New York City during the volatile days of the American Revolution. To crush the colonial rebellion and set an example for the rest of the world, the British have enlisted the aid of ‘The League’, a treacherous secret society whose members plan to use their occult powers to menace the colonies in their darkest hour. Assisted by his network of agents, the fledgling nation's only hope is the mysterious masked spy known as ‘The Black Coat’...

Bursting at the seams with memorable characters, thrilling stories full of two-fisted, swashbuckling action, and gorgeous artwork, The Black Coat promises to be one of the stand-out books of 2006. The Black Coat: A Call to Arms will feature covers by Francesco Francavilla and Ben Lichius as well as the talents of Jeremy Colwell (inks), Euan Mactavish (cover colors), and Jim Charalampadis (cover colors).

Hi guys,

The book is officially on the current (January 06) issue of Previews
and we have a order code!
The item number for BC book 1 is JAN063242. If you want
to be sure to put your hands on a copy, please preorder it at
your local comicbook store and help us to spread the word.

I am currently finishing (just a couple of pages remaining) book 2
and we will be posting more previews as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, pre-order a copy or two and tell to your friends and
relatives: the more the better and all our hard work will be
awarded. I really appreciate all the help you guys can give us in
promoting the book and I thank you already for that: I owe you a
nice sketch, if we ever get chance to meet

While we are at it, I wanna tell you the preview of your MOuse Guard has
definitely sold me: I need to see where I can order it online :)
