I was doing some thinking and after reading the interview with Bendis at Newsarama I think I understand why Layla will be good in X-Factor. I think she'll be used kinda like the big breasted burnette in Angel was used, having the visions and stuff. She'll see how realities will be played out and crap. I don't know, just a thought. Anyone agree or disagree or just think her being there is b/c Bendis won a bet with David.

I think she's Magneto in disguise, lying in wait to ambush the X men as she rips off her little girl mask!!! Aw who gives a crap, as long as everything can just be chocked up to Wanda's trickery there will be no surprises for me in the MU from here on out.

Years ago Wanda had a torrid affair with the Watcher. Layla is their love child.

I don't like Layla, but I'll wait till I read X-Factor. I have faith PAD can make her likeable. :)

I didn't think I was spoiling anything. I didn't realize it was such a big secret.

I'm sure PAD will do something interesting with her, but I'm kinda surprised they didn't put her in New X-men. It seems like she would be a better fit there.

Sorry, Sarcastic overload on my part.
Still, I didn't know. but any information involving the future contents of a book is technically a spoiler.
But I did kind of over re-act.

Well I'm sorry for spoiling anything if I did. I'll change the title of the thread now.

No don't worry, I now know.
And I assume as everyone else is not as obsessed as me, everyone else knows already anyway.
but I think that you may be too late anyway, past the 5 minute thing.

Well I tried changing the title, didn't work. Sorry in advance to anyone who comes here and didn't know.

As Layla Miller is pretty much a total blank slate in terms of who she is and what she can do (without HoM, she's a completely unexplained plot device), she could wind up being just about anything in X-factor.

Hopefully, she can give mutants their powers back. Not all the mutants, but some of them (i.e. Iceman, Magneto, Moonstar, Callisto, Quiksilver, Feral, etc etc etc)

Could Layla possibly Xavier? I mean, in HoM she seemed like Xavier's back door that he hid from Wanda in order to have a way to fix everything. Xavier wasn't around in HoM, and he isn't around in the decimated MU, so I think that in some way Xavier used Wanda is make him into Layla. Probably while Wanda was using Xavier to create HoM, Xavier was using her at the same time. Anyone else have any ideas similar to this?

fishtaco has a point. If Layla can see through the fake reality Wanda has made, and yes this reality is still a construct of Wanda, maybe she could give some their powers back.

Says who? Just because Wanda wiped out mutants doesn't mean that reality is another construct. Reality itself seems to be normal---its just individuals who have been altered.

LOL Yeah, I can see that happening.

Layla Miller... what exactly is her ability?
During House of M she served only one purpose, to give the heroes back their memories of what life was supposed to be.
So now what? What memories is she going to give back?
Also in House of M she showed no control over her own abilities, she only gave certain characters back their memories, not all characters, and it all happened rather involuntarily for the girl. Through Emma she became more useful, and even Emma didn't understand what she did or how she did it.
Peter David has been given a character that served a key-purpose during the House of M story... but in that story she was merely a plot device. With Layla Miller he has a clean slate, from abilities, to background, to personality. Layla Miller had none of those in HoM.
