Yeah, but I find it annoying at time, and inhabited by a lot of idiots who are obsessed with having 1,000,000 friends in a sad competition.

I did the facebook thing for a while. It was a lot of fun reading and exchanging messages with old high school friends and acquaintances. Then, after about a month or so, I got lazy and decided to close my account.

And when you ask why they randomly wanna add you, no reply.
I limit it to the people I know, and a few others.

I also became better friends with a girl I knew through myspace... we ended up getting together for a while... It was good while it lasted.

There's a horrible joke about grass on the field that could go with your planting seeds, but I won't do it.

I just recently got a MySpace account. Actually, I got it a while back to see Jade's pictures she had some since you have to register to look at pictures and read blogs. The other night I played around and fully created the page because I wanted to remind myself of how the HTML codes work for a possible job I have lined up. Then, for the heck of it, I did a search based on what high school I went to and found a friend I haven't spoken to in about five years. Funny because we really didn't become good friends until college. We talked for a little over an hour tonight on the phone. I'll still mock MySpace from time to time, but now I'll feel slightly hypocritical when doing so.

As for the teenagers on there, if the parents and/or kids are smart, they make their accounts private so only invited friends can see anything beyond a name and profile picture.

I've found that one of the attractions of myspace is the ability to be "friends" with people you'd never actually have the chance to be friends with in real life.

For instance, I'm friends with Mr. T, Stringfellow Hawke, Crockett AND Tubbs, Zombie Abraham Lincoln, Wilford Brimley, Captain America, Toast, Jack Bauer, Pie, Pi, G'Nort, Easy Cheese, Scotch Tape, Duct Tape, The Boss (Springsteen), The Boss (Steinbrenner), Alton Brown, and a Traffic Cone, among others.

Anybody else have any "friends" you're especially excited about?

Oh, I'm right here (http://www.myspace.com/thatgabe), by the way.

Heh, yep. That's a plus too.

Actually, all the stuff I have on my MySpace ad is stuff I've already been upfront and public about on CBR so for me personally, there is really nothing new on my MySpace page that I haven't already aired here on CBR.

I actually get quite a few replies to my MySpace page because I am so open on it too. I am always an open book no matter where I am on the Internet. LOL. If someone reads something on my MySpage page and it gives them a giggle, hey that's a plus too. ;)

Yeah, that's not really going to do it for me, either (although, being friends with Coffee is tempting). That said, the reason I signed up is that my friend Shawn told me that a lot of cartoonists are using MySpace to get the word out about their projects, so it can not only help me keep in touch with people, but it's Hype-Filter-O-Matic--I can follow cartoonists I like, ignore those I don't, and lead a happy, more time-wasteful life.

Thanks to Myspace, I get a notice every time that Jim Mahfood is doing a show.

It is magic heaven.

Not cool.

Is there such a thing as an internet restraining order? If not, I think there may be soon.

Dude, I'm pretty sure Pho already has one against me. I can't help it if I'm madly in love with her and want to sneak up behind her at the next Con and cut off a little piece of her hair without her knowing so that I can take it home and add it to my secret shrine to her. That's not creepy right? :D

Well, as far as I know, some of the celebrity MySpace ads are the real deal. Like the one I have for the actor Ryan Reynolds. (I hope it's real. God, I want that man) I believe a lot of the ones for some of the famous bands on there are the real deal too. (I hope they are, or else I am one gullible sod!)

Oh MySpace, how I love thee.

I understand what you're saying, but I haven't found myself annoyed by it. But maybe because pretty much all of the "celebrities" that I'm friends with are clearly spoof-ish, satyrical Myspacers.

And I imagine some of the people on there posing as musicians or bands just want to be able to put a specific song on their space. But it would bug me if I really was a musical celebrity and tried to create a space, only to find that myspace.com/axl (or whatever) had already been taken by some fanboy who hadn't logged in for a year.

Mostly, though, my "friends" who aren't people I actually know are characters (not the actors), comic characters (it's probably not really Alan Scott), food, beverages, and inanimate objects.

Go into "Edit Profile". Put it in the "about me" section of your profile. (after whatever you've written about yourself in your profile) Just copy and paste the HTML codes there and hit save and your wallpaper should show up.

Anybody else running into problems today? Last night the site wasn't accessible because they were doing maintenance. Today all the stuff I had listed under Interests is gone, and so is every graphic I had Profile page.

Oh, and everything on the left side of the page is now waaaaaaay the fuck down.

Hmmm...I noticed the maintainence thing they were doing last night too. I checked my page and it seems ok but its taking forever to load. I wonder why so much of your stuff is missing? I'd email MySpace directly and ask them what's going on.

I've got a 360 from Yahoo, and MySpace. I'm sticking to the 360 for my personal single father diatrabes, and the MySpace is for cartooning nonsense. I'm trying to push a small press coalition we're getting started, and that has its own MySpace.

I got Howy and Jadie added . . .

And yes, that's a hint.

I loved Dazzler! I can't believe there is a fellow Dazzler fan on here. Awesome! I had all of those as a kid but lost them and could kick myself. I recently found one Dazzler comic at a local small comic store after looking through piles of old comics.
