I think Lone Ranger led this thread before and I always found it interesting. Ranger, I don't want to step on your territory so any chance of starting it again.
A few to consider for nomination - Sid Greene, Don Newton, Billy Graham, Joe Maneely. We may have done some of these before.

I simply haven't had enough time to piece these together lately.
I used to try to scan any images I had, and even any original art if I happend to have any by the artist in question. With the GTCC game, the jumbles (which are on hiatus as well), it just got to be a bit too much.
If you would like, feel free to start it up again - I liked it too, and would be happy to make suggestions etc...
For the record, I believe that we covered Sid Greene and Don Newton already, but you may want to check on that. Some of them may have been pre-meltdown so probably can be re-introduced and still be fresh.

Thanks Ranger. I wouldn't mind starting it up again but I'll leave it up to other members.
Would anyone else be interested in this thread starting up again? If noone replies or there is limited interest, I'll let it RIP.

I'm sure Don Newton's been done, because I posted in his thread.
I liked the Underappreciated Artist. If someone has a good idea for a spotlight artist, I think they should feel free to start a thread.

i'd love seeing this thread return as well. & i second (third?) the assertion that don newton was covered, as well he should have been.

I can't remember for sure who's been covered, but if we start it again--and we should--I'd suggest as candidates:
Herb Trimpe
Dan Spiegle
Gerry Talaoc
Sam Glanzman
Jose Delbo
Luis Dominguez

He was indeed. My favorite artist. May he rest in peace.

I think Herb Trimpe may have been done already, but Luis Dominguez is a good choice. I know next to nothing about him.
Speaking of people with Luis as a first name, I'd also nominate the Spanish artists who worked for Warren or had stories translated for Warren: Jose Ortiz, Luis Bermejo, Luis Garcia, etc.
Another underrated artist who really interests me is Enrique Nieto, a.k.a. F. Nieto, but no one seems to know much about him. (DarkBlade has discovered this thread (http://www.geocities.com/darkbladearts/cbr/CLAFNieto.htm) about him from before the meltdown.)

I love threads like these. I missed the original that you guys are referring too. Not being too computer-savvy, is it possible to create a link to the original thread?

Here you go:
Don Newton (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=12503)
Ross Andru (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=44830)
Sal Buscema (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=2364)
There were others on the old board pre-meltdown (May, 2004), but they are lost somewhere in cyberspace. The names are noted in the Sal B thread.
