I don't venture in here very often (it's scary in here for an old guy). But I came across a couple of books that look interesting and that I can potentially get for pretty cheap. So...wondering if anyone has read them and has any thoughts.

They would be...

Nowheresville, and

Dead West

Any help is appreciated.

Do you mean Vampirella: Nowheresville?

If you do, its a top quality story by Mark Millar and Mike Mayhew. One of Vampi's best.

Nope. This is just titled Nowheresville and is by Mark Ricketts. It appears to be a noir crime story set in 1950's Greenwich village.

The other book, Dead West, is by Rick Spears and Rob G.?

Slam,

NOWHERESVILLE is a particular favorite of mine. If you've got a thing for detective tales, a Beat Generation predilection, or a general thing for noir, I think you'd like it. Of everything Ricketts has done, it's easily my favorite.

I bought DEAD WEST because I liked previous work from them, but I still haven't cracked it yet--it's in my ever-growing "to read" stack.

Cool. I love noir and detective stuff. So I'll probably take a very good look at this.

Well get off the stick and read it so I know if I want to pick it up.

I tried to get a good cross-section of reactions to it.
