View Full Version : Avatar contest for the week of November 9th

Arrjay

So after very little deliberation on the matter this weeks avatar contest will be based on the extremely dodgy theme of:

FICTIONAL CHARACTERS FROM FILM AND TELEVISION WHO WHINE TOO MUCH.

The only thing is that I need someone to make this into a smaller avatar for me so that I can compete. :o

Thanks.

a few quotes:

"I am so psychosomatic it makes me sick just thinking about it!"

"Pity's very underrated. I like pity. It's good."

"I always get the feeling that when lesbians look at me, they're thinking, '*That's* why I'm not a heterosexual.'"

"The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A death! What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy retirement. You drink alcohol, you party, and you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no reponsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last 9 months floating... then you finish of as an organism !!!
Amen"

"If you can't say something bad about a relationship you shouldn't say anything at all."

"I think she finds my stupidity charming."

Yeah. He whined so much I'm surprised he wasn't an extra on Dawson's Creek.

I guess he's now a fictional character in the CBR-verse. I'll take votes from the entrants so far on whether or not the Iwarrior avatar counts.

Looks like I'm starting a little theme for myself. Let's see how many contests I can use a Buffy-related avatar for.

This week's entry is William the Bloody, or Spike to his friend.

"Oh, boo hoo, I'm an awful, love-sick poet."
"Oh, boo hoo, I'm a vampire."
"Oh, boo hoo, my vampire mother doesn't love me anymore."
"Oh, boo hoo, my girlfriend is a mental case."
"Oh, boo hoo, I can't walk."
"Oh, boo hoo, my girlfriend's sire is trying steal her away from me."
"Oh, boo hoo, I've been captured by some covert military group and was implanted with a chip, so now I can't hurt anybody."
"Oh, boo hoo, the person I most want to kill doesn't love me."
"Oh, boo hoo, I'm dead."
"Oh, boo hoo, I'm a ghost."
"Oh, boo hoo, my show's cancelled."
"Oh, boo hoo, I'm some sort of liquid-metal alien robot thingy...whoops, wrong show."

Wait, we're talking about whining, and not mentioning the man who completly reinvented it for the 1960s? A man who could whine about his troubles while banging his 18-year-old adopted daughter?

I give you Don Music from Seseme Street. You may remember him, he was the guy who would always try to play songs and then whine about how the songs weren't quite right and then he'd bang his head on the piano. One of my favorites was when he was trying to play Yankie Doodle..(mind you this is from memory so it may not be completely accurate)

Don Music: HOW CAN HE PUT A FEATHER IN HIS CAP AND CALL IT MACARONI???

Kermit: What if he put fat speghetti in his hat? Macaroni is kinda like fat speghetti.

Don Music: BUT WHY WOULD HE PUT MACARONI IN HIS HAT???

Kermit: Um, he didn't, he put it in a pot, because you can cook macaroni in a pot.

Don Music: BUT HOW CAN HE COOK AND RIDE A PONY AT THE SAME TIME????

Even now, when I see her I think, "Dang, she's pretty hot". Then she opens her mouth. She STILL looks dynamite and she's gotta be pushing 50.

48 according to IMDB. Still smokin' according to you and me.

I almost went with Janice/Maggie Wheeler from "Friends" ("OH...MY...GOD!) but I figured Fran was more the "original" of that model.

A great beauty..and oddly enough, the show was pretty freakin' funny too. It was a mainstream comedy but had these "hip" guests which made it all the more an enigma (Ray Charles? Spaulding Gray?).

I remember sitting through an awful Robin Williams movie "Cadillac Man", just for her appearance.

I almost wept when I heard she is being cast in roles as "mother" to 20-somethings. But when the show came out, she was the mother of a dumpy, frumpy 20-something. I can live with that.

There are some seriously good picks this week folks. It'll be a tough vote.

So far, for my vote, I'm considering the following, in no particular order:

Typo Lad's Spiderman.

Winslow's Castanza.

Special K's Lana Lang.

Sentry's Ray Romano.

That chick from Peanuts that Dennis K chose.

Offensive?
I'd think that offensive stereotypes would perpetuate among Gentiles a greater sense of prejudice against Jews. I don't remember anyone thinking, "This show is perfect. Damn Jews are just like that" as opposed to what some of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" can pull from time to time.
If anything, concerning THE NANNY, I thought it was more a poke at Jersey.
