Emma's Background

Is there any further background on Emma, other than that dreadful mini put out some years ago? The reason I ask is that I’ve noticed that the character was directly borrowed from Emma Peel from the British show “The Avengers”. And they have an obvious similar background and temperment. So I was wondering if there was a comic (or even a web site that) I could reference.
