I'm not into horror films, so I'm looking for suggestions.

I already know classic ones like Exorcist, Shining, Hitchcock movies, etc... So...

What is your favorite horror film? What horror film would you recommend for watching?

Keep in mind, not a thriller... a horror film.

I don't care what context it is in, any horror film.

Classic Universal Era: BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN
Val Lewton: THE CAT PEOPLE
Big Budget 1950s: THE HAUNTING
Low Budget 1950s: THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL
Foreign: EYES WITHOUT A FACE

Foreign: EYES WITHOUT A FACE

I watched it the other weekend. It was pretty good, but I had read a lot of hype going into it and it didn't quite live up to it.

Okay, mine isn't as cool as some of the other suggestions, but I really like Thirteen Ghosts. I like the way it looks, and it has a definite "creep out" factor for me. :)

As a teenager, I made myself sit through a tape of Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 2, the one with Dennis Hopper as the good guy Sheriff and a good dose of irony along with the graphic gore.

To this day, I think of it as having its own nightmarish rigor, its own allegorical value in showing a hallucinated fight between a force of good and one of demented, horrible evil.

I really dig that movie. The scene at the end where she's running after the tractor in the apple orchard is awesome. A really nice, moody ghost/vampire story.

She's "The White Queen" Emma Frost. One of my favorite female characters in X-Men. Next to Storm and Shadowcat.

Also I agree she is hot.
