Wow - what a week! Normally, the second shipping week is one that allows me to skip a trip to my LCS. What's going on here?

The Other, Part 4. Still need to read the first three parts.

RED EAGLE

Torippu beat me to it!

ACTION COMICS #833 $2.50
Gail's back!! And so is The Queen of Fables from Mark Waid's excellent JLA run!
BATMAN LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT #197 $2.50
Part 1 of the 3-part "Blaze of Glory" by Will Pfeifer and Chris Weston! I really enjoy Will as a writer, so I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with this little Batman tale.
GOTHAM CENTRAL #37 $2.50
Rucka! Infinite Crisis tie-in, guest-starring Captain Marvel! Love this.
HAWKMAN #46 $2.50
Adam Kubert's cover for this is SO AWESOME! His first work for DC under the new contract, I believe! (would love to see him on interiors) This book has been SOOO awesome!! And full of surprises! The largest of which is that I would ever be so excited about a Hawkman book or moreover, what actually happens to the character. Yay Palmiotti & Gray!
INFINITE CRISIS #2 (OF 7) $3.99
WOOOOOT!!!! My geek-senses are a'tinglin'!!! First issue BLEW ME AWAY!! So psyched to see where this madness goes!
NIGHTWING #114 $2.50
The fascinating new direction continues. I like the red costume. And the solicitation actually indicates that Phil Hester will be drawing this issue. It's a Dick/Roy fight (at least according to the cover) and that's one fight I'm eager to see the outcome to.
SON OF VULCAN #6 (OF 6) $2.99
The conclusion of this surprisingly great mini-series! Best art Keron's done since his Iron Man run (and the Mangaverse: Fantastic Four book). Really clever book.
TEEN TITANS #29 $2.50
The Red Hood??? Donna Troy??? Carlos D'Anda art??? Geoff Johns returns and he's packin' heat!
Y THE LAST MAN #39 (MR) $2.99
BKV!!! The conclusion to "Paper Dolls!" LOVE!!!!
DAREDEVIL FATHER #4 (OF 5) $2.99
REALLY digging the heck out of this book! ^_^
DECIMATION HOUSE OF M THE DAY AFTER $3.99
Very very excited and at the same time QUITE terrified. Particularly because I already know of one of the "casualties." This book (written by Claremont, art by Randy Green) sets the stage for the Post-HoM status quo for the X-Men and the upcoming Generation M book which I am HIGHLY anticipating and, again, GREATLY fearful of.
EXILES #72 $2.99
The Exiles visit the NEW UNIVERSE!!! (too bad I didn't collect comics in the 80's) :P
FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #2 $2.99
MIKE WIERINGO! Part 4 of the 12-part "The Other." Am picking this up for the art and to see if we are ever ACTUALLY TOLD what the hell is on that letter Pete keeps throwing around.
MARVEL KNIGHTS 4 #24 $2.99
More Impossible Man wackiness! (and more Mizuki Sakakibara)
NEW WARRIORS #5 (OF 6) $2.99
YAAAAAY! SOOO GOOD!!!! Totally in love with this book from Zeb Wells and Skottie Young.
PULSE #12 $2.99
BENDIS!!! The mystery of D-Man and the Jessica Jones/Luke Cage baby!
LOVE AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE #4 (MR) $5.95
The highly endearing love story of fish-out-of-water Canadian ESL teacher in Korea and the school secretary he can barely muster up the nerve to talk to. From J. Torres and Eric Kim!
SINFEST VOL 3 DANCE OF THE GODS TP (MR) $17.95
My--er... Second favorite Keenspot comic! ^_^ In print! Twistedly funny (and delightfully offensive).

WAITNG FOR THE TRADE

POLLY & THE PIRATES #2 (OF 6) $2.99

Man I haven't had a comic week this *big* in weeks!

Buying:

STAR WARS EMPIRE #37
STAR WARS REPUBLIC #79 Hard to believe we're really getting two SW comics in a week, but welcome nonetheless
RUROUNI KENSHIN PROFILES - yeah, It's probably some really cheesy "character profiles" book, but it's the closest this series is likely to ever come to an english-language "Art of" book...at least for now. (can you tell I'm a concept art junkie?)

Already got

RUROUNI KENSHIN VOL 20 - All I can say about this "What do you mean I have to wait a whole month for the next one!"

Waiting for trade

BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL #107 yes I AM working on my review for vol 8, promise!

Walking Dead #23 - Without a doubt my book of the week. Nothing else is even close.

Aquaman #36 - This book just keeps hanging around my pull list. I guess that I like it. :)

Gotham Central #38 - This is on my pull list, but if its just a Infinite Crisis tie-in then I'll be skipping it, especially since I'm not a Captain Marvel fan.

Hawkman #46 - I'm a big Hawkman fan, and I've really enjoyed it until the last 2 issues. Hopefully it picks up again, here.

Nightwing #114

Cable/Deadpool #22

DD:Father #4

Thunderbolts #15 - This book has been getting better again after a few slow issues.

Thor blood oath #4 - I thought this was coming out last week, but I was wrong.

Pulse #12 - D-Man? The Cap sidekick from the late 80's? He's in this book? I must have that wrong.

LOVE AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE has a "Mature Readers" tag? I never noticed that before. It doesn't really seem the kind of book to need one. . . What am I missing?

And, YAY! for SON OF VULCAN. It's been a most pleasant surprise.

Action Comics #833
Gail!
Aquaman #36
Only because I pre-ordered it. I finally caught up on all the back issues I bought and I agree with Tracie that the book isn't the same since Pfeifer and Gleason left. Ah, well. Easy come, easy go.
DMZ #1
Looks interesting. Worth a couple test issues at least.
Gotham Central #37
Hmmmm... I'm afraid of this book losing its original feel/focus/tone. I don't want it to start tying closer to the DCU.
Infinite Crisis #2
House of M completely threw me for a loop, so I'm reserving judgement.
Losers vol. 4: Close Quarters TP
I'm eager to read this, but I'm also sad to see the final issue solicitation. I really hope that the ending isn't as premature as I think it is (who ends a book on #37???)
Majestic #11
My newly invigorated sense of interest in this book is gone again. After this I'm dropping it. :(
Nightwing #114
Still hanging in there, but I'm also starting to wonder how much longer?

Rex Mundi #15
Damn. Still need to track down a #13.
*Side Note* While I'm thrilled to see that Juan Ferreyra is going to be the new artist (hopefully for a very long time), I'm absolutely depressed over the premature death of Small Gods. A damn fine book. *sigh*

Book of Lost Souls #2
Still need to read #1.
Cable/Deadpool #22
I keep thinking I should wait for trade. I can't afford to keep buying issues AND trades. But I still find that I love reading this month to month.
Decimation House of M Day After
Overall, I'm very excited about this, but I share some of Tracie's anxiety. I know there's going to be at least one or two de-powerings that're going to bum me out.
Fantastic Four: Wedding Special
Woot! Drew Johnson!!! Been dying to see this since SDCC!
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #2
I was content to skip this month. I don't like Hudlin's writing and would like to save the $9 (approx.). But then Patricia gave me that scary look. So I'll be buying Act Two to The Other after all.
New Excalibur #1
Pre-ordered, but after this I'll be waiting for trade. Oddly, I'm not very excited about this one.
New Thunderbolts vol. 2: Modern Marvels TP
This'll fill-in where I left off.

Polly and the Pirates #2
Eek! Need to read #1! Of course I have time, since Patricia will jack this one for herself first anyway. ;)

Spider-Woman mini bust
Thank you Brian Michael Bendis.

Wait for Trade
--------------
Blade of the Immortal
Of course
100 Bullets
Read the last trade too quick. Should have dragged it out. Hate waiting. Grrr...
Daredevil: Father
I'll get it because it's Quesada.
Drax the Destroyer
Marvel is too good about getting things into trade
New Thunderbolts
The trade collecting issues from last arc is being released in the same week as the issues? Yeah, I'm pretty confident that I can wait.
New Warriors
Liked #1. Liked seeing the trade solicitation in Previews even more.
Pulse #12
Ever since the Secret War snafu, this book has felt especially lost/directionless (although the House of M issue was great!). That feeling expressed, I'm content to wait for trade on this.
Robert Jordan New Spring
I can't imagine this not being collected. If I'm wrong, I'm sure I'll be able to track down the issues.

Aquaman #36
Only because I pre-ordered it. I finally caught up on all the back issues I bought and I agree with Tracie that the book isn't the same since Pfeifer and Gleason left. Ah, well. Easy come, easy go.

And to think I was GUILTED for dropping the book! :P

And it wasn't an easy choice for me to make as I do have a feeling of loyalty to John Arcudi thanks to his wonderful DOOM PATROL and THUNDERBOLTS. Plus, I'd been on such an Aquaman high thanks to Will Pfeifer, I was really liking the idea of being an Aquaman fan, but the series had just slowly been loosing me once Will left, and Pat Gleason's exit felt like the nail in the coffin. ...Even though I still hung on for a number of issues before finally cutting it loose.

As much as I buy, the second my feelings start to wane on something, I'm immediately forced to think about wether I really *need* to be buying it at all.

DMZ #1
Looks interesting. Worth a couple test issues at least.

I'd certainly love to hear your thoughts on it! I was tempted by the Brian Wood name (and preview pages in Vertigo books) but had decided to wait for a trade.

Gotham Central #37
Hmmmm... I'm afraid of this book losing its original feel/focus/tone. I don't want it to start tying closer to the DCU.

I just see it as... Infinite Crisis is the BIGGEST thing happening in the DCU, and I'm actually quite interested to see what the "regular folk" of Gotham Central see these types of things at. Their perspective. All faith in Rucka.

INCREDIBLE HULK #88 $2.99
This is supposed to kick off something BIG for Hulk. Isn't it?
NEW X-MEN #20 $2.99
Mark Brooks art! Come on!
NEW X-MEN X-23 VARIANT #20 $2.99
Yeah! I wish this Billy Tan sketch cover would be $2.99 at my local shop.

I was reading both books out of loyalty to specific creators, all of whom had just exited. Peter David on Hulk and Nunzio DeFillipis and Christina Weir on New X-Men. Since my enjoyment of both titles had been hung on their involvement, I took their exits as my chance to lighten the reading load.

Now without regrets, of course. I am intreagued by all the talk about some Hulk-based Universe-effecting events being set up. I'll keep my eyes out, but I'm not totally sold on it just yet.

And I do really like Mark Brook's art, but I have this internal fear of New X-Men being turned into just an outlet for X-23 and the main cast getting pushed to the side. (well... those that weren't de-powered post HoM).

Ditto what Tracie posted. With the old guard leaving, so's my interest in both books. :(

Tracie==>
Sorry about the Aqua-guilt. I tore through Pfeifer's issues, going back to linger over Gleason's pencils, but found I was losing steam (and interest) after they left. I like Arcudi, but between the fill-ins and crossovers, I've lost interest.

Jeff==>
These days I shoot through Image's section in Previews in less than a minute. As a result, I sometimes miss things. What's this about?

SON OF VULCAN #6 (OF 6) $2.99
The conclusion of this surprisingly great mini-series! Best art Keron's done since his Iron Man run (and the Mangaverse: Fantastic Four book). Really clever book.

I was on board with issue #1 for the Keron Grant art. After issue #2 I was having doubts about continuing. I picked up #6 today just to finish it off. Maybe I need to sit down and self TPB the whole thing. Hopefully I will come off with a better appreciation for the story. What was it about this mini that you really enjoyed?

TEEN TITANS #29 $2.50
The Red Hood??? Donna Troy??? Carlos D'Anda art??? Geoff Johns returns and he's packin' heat!

Tony Daniel art in this one. The Tenth, Spawn and Tomb Raider never looked like this. Tony has a different art style here. In a recent online article he talks about how he loves TT and how he went back to the old Perez issues for inspiration. Cool!

Pencils by Randy Green & Aaron Lopresti. Plus, three different inkers..
Rob Hunter, Norm Rapmund & Don Hillsman II. I put this one back on the shelf. Not so interested in what happens the day after HOM.

Also, I did not pick up Hulk #88 or New X-Men #20.
