How would you do it, and what characters would you build it around?

I think one of the problems with the 90s CGW launch (besides taking place in the 90s) was that the split up cities didnt really lend itself to a cohesive enough world, and that the focal point to all of them was the Out of the Vortex alien, who wasnt really compelling enough to carry the weight.

I guess like Joe Queseda Im just itching for someone to put together a new universe and make it work, like shooter's pre-unity valiant. I think a slow rollout of X, Ghost, Barb Wire, and Titan could accomplish this.

bump because I've been thinking about this more lately. Dark Horse could release a few trades, maybe a Ghost pocketbook or two and an X tpb, along with a tpb reprinting the original 16 issue intro and will to power mini, then re-launch two or three monthlies (Ghost, X, maybe Barb Wire) with some good creators behind it. I still think it could work

The main problem with CGW (IMO) was not that it wasn’t a cohesive world or cohesive enough, but rather it was simply boring. Uninteresting characters in a dull prescripted world. Forget cohesive and focus on plot and character. Let the stories tell you (the writers) how they want to fit and interact together, rather than laying down strict rules.

Let me write GHOST and I don't care what else happens.

I'd start from the ground up though. Even if they kept the vortex alien as the focal I'd keep it in the background for at least two years. Barely mentioned.

I'd condense the different cities down to two and then branch out if the universe warranted.

BARB WIRE doesn't need much changing. A normal bounty hunter who's such a badass she can take on super powers. Perfect.

I'd rework X a bit visually (lose the cape!) but he doesn't need much tweaking either.

Motorhead is good to go.

No Agents of Change. No storyline involving them.
