Is this any good? I came across a decently-priced used copy online and I like reference books like this in general, but I've never heard of this title or the author.

This is a really nice coffee table book, but is also well-written and has gorgeous illustrations. A few libraries in our area have purchased it, and I've leafed through it.

I checked over at Amazon to see what the consensus is among customer reviews, and it gets top ratings from the 7 customer reviewers. So, for what that's worth, it does seem to be well-liked.

I see that a used copy is available for about $25. I have seen remaindered and slightly damaged copies for sale at my local mega-stores for about $25, so that would be the going price for this book in less than pristine condition, if that matters to you.

I don't know that it would be an authoritative reference source on Marvel, but it does incorporate a lot of interview material, which I always find interesting and important when researching.
