The new animated film Chicken Little came in first at the box office this weekend with $40.086 million dollars.
Second place was the new "war" movie Jarhead. It brought in $28.751 million in it's debut.
Saw II made $17.2 million bringing it's total to $60,468,000 so far.

06. Dreamer: Inspired By A True Story $4.8 million ($23,827,000)
07. Good Night, and Good Luck $3.1 million ($11,007,000)
08. The Weather Man $2.935 million ($8,704,000)
09. Shopgirl $2.524 million ($3,486,000)
10. Flightplan $2.330 million ($84,452,000)
NOTES:
I've seen Flightplan and I thought it was a good (but not great) film.
I'm hoping to see Good Night, and Good Luck in the theater but since it's not in any theater near me, I will probably have to wait until DVD. I'm also planning to see on DVD: The Legend of Zorro, Dreamer: Inspired By A True Story, and Shopgirl.

Im just gonna see Chicken Little when it comes out on DVD. The same goes for Zorro.
For a not so big budget film Saw 2 is doing pretty good. Think we may get another Saw movie because of this?

I saw Shopgirl tonight and really enjoyed it. I love Claire Danes.
I already had seen Flightplan, and thought it was good.
I want to see a matinee of Jarhed sometime this week. I also really want to see Good Night, and Good Luck.

It's unbelievable to me, and at the same time I am so glad to see, that independent... good films are making money. I mean... You Got Served was #1 at the box office at one point... and to think that now we're getting GN, & GL. up there! Yey Americans!

I'll be checking out Legend of Zorro since I received a free pass with my Mask of Zorro Deluxe Edition DVD. I decided to upgrade from the old DVD I had since '98.
Seeing Mask of Zorro yesterday on cable has really pushed me to see Legend of Zorro, as it wasn't as high on my list of must-see films a while ago.
Saw II was great, it's about the only thing I've seen in the top ten. I saw Three . . .Extremes on Saturday, and boy was that strange. With all the blood and guts of the first two segments, I was surprised Takashi Miike's piece was so bloodless. It was more of a psychologoical drama than the stuff he usually does. But "Dumplings", oh god, that one's just nasty!

I took the boys to see Chicken Little this weekend. They enjoyed it. I thought it was boring as hell. It skewed pretty young story-wise...what story there was. The animation was interesting, but it didn't seem ground-breaking to me. Overall, I was less than impressed.

Probably, as horrifying as that thought is. But for a film made for about four million dollars to have already brought in sixty million, I'd say it's almost guaranteed.
Oh, Saw III is confirmed as of this morning.

Well it's nice to see a horror film that isn't some PG-13 Teen Slash Horror Film getting another deserving sequal. Coming from a horror movie fan I would saw Saw is one of the most innovative horror films out thare.

I really want to see this, but it isn't playing anywhere near me.

The way he kills his victims for one thing. It beats having a killer kill a person with a knife or anyother type of weapon randomly in some isolated location.
Besides how the killer kills his victims in Saw he seems, in his way, to have a pretty good reason why he does it.

Saw is utter crap. The characters were laughable and the traps are ridiculous and funny.
