I recently got iO digital cabel and it's got this disney cartoon chanel that plays the 90's spider-man cartoon.
I saw an episode recently with the scarlet spider, Spider-carnage from the ben reilly-as-spiderman arc in the comics, and a spiderman with the ben rielly costume. I didn't seem like a clone story more like an alternate reality story with madame web and whatnot.
Anybody know what happened towards the end of the 90's cartoon? It seems like stuff got pretty crazy towards the end of the series.

the last couple of episodes were a bunch of team-up. First it was Captain aAmerica and the six forgotten warriors againts electro and the red skull. Then Secret Wars and finally the one you just mentioned

After Mary Jane turned out to be a clone, it all went to Pot. They really couldn't have let Spider-man be happy :( The ending was naff too. A lot of people still want a conclusion(proper ending) to be made, heh.

final episode, I believe, was where Spidey went to the world of the Spider-Man that didn't have any powers. that world was, more or less, ours, where Spider-Man only existed as a fictional character and the powerless Spidey was an actor that played him. Spidey then goes to meet Stan Lee and, after they talk, he goes back to Madame Web feeling like a new man.
or something like that. it's been years since I've seen that episode but that's pretty much what happened.

For more or less, yeah that's what happened. Anyway, did they they give us any clue to who the actor was, he seemed embarrassed to be there with all the other Spideys.

Marvel Studios was originally going to do two more seasons after the final Spider Wars two parter. But they closed down shortly after and was taken over by Saban Entertainment. Marvel's contract for 65 Spider-Man episodes to Fox also ran and out they didn't want renew the contract and change the animation style thinking Saban would screw thier animation style up like they did with the final few episodes of X-Men. Marvel Studios tried their best to alter the final Spider-Man episode for a proper ending but it was too late as the episode was in its final production stage and they had no money left to redo the whole episode. It's a shame really because they had already scripted a few episodes after the Spider Wars two parter. They were gonna have Spider-Man travel through other dimensions and time searching for the real Mary Jane in quite a few of the episodes in the next season if it was made. One of the episodes they were gonna do was Spider-Man ending up back in time to 18th century where he encounters Cletus Kassady aka Carnage as Jack the Ripper. I'm dissapointed and still am that we never got a proper conclusion but I'd rather they ended it like that than have Saban screw up the amazing animation style that the show had.
