HA! That's awesome. He has the shirt. That's funny actually...Sandman always wears the same shirt. Is is a part of him? Is it his costume? Fan of green stripes? The mystery continues.

Really looks the part. Nice.

Church played a dolt on that airport show, so I think he'll be an excellent Sandman.

That's gotta be among the most accurate comic-to-movie costumes ever. :)

Is it my imagination, or did they even get that godawful "Osborn-like" hair of his down pat?

Was about to mention that, it looks like he's got the sideways cornrows.

I guess that means that he's officially not Venom, huh?

Looking at it closer, what the hell is up with his arms? His right arm looks enormous, his left arm looks fairly buff on the top, but pretty skinny on the bottom.

Wow, that is very weird.

Maybe his right arm is about to morph into a big hammer or something?

Or his skinny arm is going to morph into uh... a skinny hammer. Yeah his arms do look weird.

Still he looks great.

He does look very cool. Can't wait for him to be all Sand like.

He looks terrific. I hope they sell Sandman shirts when the movie comes out.

I think they have that pattern at Old Navy.

I'm not much of a big fan of Sandman but I can honestly say that Thomas Haden Church fits Sandman 100%. Maybe I should cut Sandman some slack.

I never see any new sandman comics but this might get it rolling. Great costume. Finally no more changes like the 2 other ones.

I can't wait to see a pic of him in sand.

Church has the look down pat. This excites me a lot because if he came out this good, I can't wait to see Topher Grace as Eddie Brock.

Hopefully Topher isn't Brock. They might get a great sandman but I really don't want Topher as Brock.

I have never been as optimistic about Sandman in Spider-Man 3 as I am at this moment.

Only problem is if Venom isn't in it, Sandman isn't really going to hold his own as a villian.

Then again, they really should have set aside a whole moview for Venom.

Don't forget Harry. It's more important to Raimi that he finishes off that arc that introduce a bunch of other villains.

I have to disagree. Venom's powers are too similar to Spidey's, and his motivation goes no deeper than "kill Spider-Man". Not nearly enough meat for a movie, unless Raimi was telling a real dark stalker story (the way the old Venom tales used to be), which I don't see Sony or Marvel allowing.

I can see the downfall of Eddie Brock & alien costume taking up an hour, during which Sandman can be a villain. The Venom fights don't have to take up more than an hour to be impressive.

I expect Raimi & co to make a better than any of us ever could.

the pic looks photoshopped/altered. i think most noticibly would be his right side (our left). the way his shirt comes to a right angle next to his arm, or his butt/leg. it looks worked to me.
regardless, he is definitely sandman, unless this image is a fake. i wouldn't put that past marvel, either.

I know Kirsten is supposed to have let the cat out of the bag re: S-M 3 villians (and imdb says he's playing Venom)

but is 100% confirmed that Venom is in this movie, I've heard rumours that it's Chameleon who's the other villian

it wouldn't be the first time a studio has mislead fans over film details (Revenge of the Jedi anyone???)

The only thing with any semblance of confirmation is this Sandman picture.

There have been Venom rumors and Chameleon rumors (and even Electro rumors), and we're not gonna know for sure until we see a similar photo of Topher Grace in costume. :)

You know, at first I didn't see it but there's something weird going on with his arms.

That's spot on perfect though.

I don't think we even have official confirmation that Grace is playing an actual, traditional villain. I wouldn't be surprised if he was "villanous" in the sense that his character comes between Pete and MJ (for obligatory romantic tension).

And personally, I wouldn't trust a damn thing Dunst says until we get someone less retarded and more official to confirm it.

If Grace is playing Brock, though...I don't want him to become Venom until the end of the film. It'd be a nice lead-in to Spider-Man 4 and it'd be a sure-fire way to ensure another sequel.

I think Spidey 3 should focus on Harry's story, with Sandman as a side-villain or hired gun.

And PLEASE, none of that "Sandman is Norman's cousin!" garbage.

Cripes, I forgot about that...so does Church play Harry's Uncle Flint? ;)

Lord, I hope not.

Relax people, Sam Raimi isn't going to do an awful thing like that. I trust him with this film as I've trusted him with the other two fabulous Spider-Man movies.
