Electric Dreams, from the 80s?
It was a frothy fairy tale about a love triangle;A man, a woman, and the computer that falls in love with her.
Yes it sounds cheesy, but it's a silly lil film that actually makes you smile and dammit, cry!
Though the film itself never became popular, the soundtrack was actually a hit, with songs by Culture Club, Giorgio Moroder and Philip Oakley (from Human League fame), all very popular abck in 84-85...when the film came out.

Anyone remembers that movie?

Of course. Loved the title song. If I remember correctly, the guy spilt coffee on his computer, and somehow that cause it to come to life.

Yeah, I remember that movie...the girl is a musician, she plays the cello or some stringed instruments and the computer composes songs for her. She thinks it's the guy who owns the computer that is actually producing the wonderful music. Haven't seen it in years but when I had HBO years ago they used to run ELECTRIC DREAMS all the time. Wonder if it's available on DVD...

I remember it too. IMDb says the computer's voice was done by the same guy who voiced 'Josiah Wormwood' for B:TAS and 'The Toyman' for S:TAS (Bud Cort), who's famous for playing 'Harold' in 'Harold and Maude'.

That movie had the most graphic Chello Murder EVER put in film..

Which now that I think about it could have been intentional imagery paralleling the concept of traditional music's death by technology. A "Video killed the radio star" kind of thing. It was the beginning of he age of computers and we thought they were going to replace everything.
