Next years big Marvel event, ala House of M.

Who knows what it means. No one outside the Marvel Offices will know until mid next year.

The current HULK storyline is supposed to lead into it, I think.

Does anyone notice a pattern here -

Disassembeled - Fundamentaly changing Avengers
House of M - Fundamentaly changing Mutants
The Other - Fundamentaly changing Spider-Man
Planet Hulk - Fundamentaly changing Hulk (possibly...)

whose left?

All the planet hulk previews I've seen make it look like its going to be Hulk vs. the OMAC project... Nobody knows what's gonna happen i dont think, but I am going to go ahead and guess that Hydra finds a way to make Hulk soldiers and adventure ensues, something like that.

So far the only thing I've heard about it is that SHILD leaves the Hulk stranded in space but that could just be the storyline that leads up to it.

Excellent observation.

Marvel is trying to reinvigorate some tired blooded characters.

I personally didn't think there was anything wrong with the Avengers. The minimizing of the mutant population is one of the best things they've done with the mutantverse in years and this Other thing with Spidey has me very curious.

Planet Hulk ? Him fighting a whole planet sounds sort of cool, but I guess we'll have to see. SHIELD putting him in space is also pretty interesting.

Magical Characters.

The Siege of Darkness back in the 90s tried to do something like that, but what with Marvel's mass cancellation of titles and bankruptcy, the "changes" introduced were mostly forgotten.

I'm really an anti-Hulk fan. But if I were to guess on whats going to happen....(Remember I never read a Hulk comic ever.)

-Hulk clones attack the planet and once the mini is done, there's like 1 or 2 hulks left and we don't know who is the original

-Hulk gets sent to another planet by SHEILD and has to find a way to escape while learning that the planet is covered with aliens and he gains some new powers.

-Hulk is inside the earth and learns about the planets history while finding out something that would suprise readers...ok I'm losing ideas.

It probably something completely different from my ideas...

Sounds like an interesting idea. May actually get me interested in the Hulk for once.

In 2005, Magneto's family was the spotlight. Next year it's all about Hulk. Should be quite a interesting change of pace.

i was thinking about something the other day...

wasn't secret war (the current delayed one, not wars) originally supposed to do something (i.e. get rid of) all of marvel's tech based villains?

this is going off of not having read the series in 8? months since the last issue, and vague memories of interviews and solicits i read.

I think it was just supposed to explain them. How they can afford such fantastic weapons for knocking over banks, and stuff like that.

But why these overdrawn events? I guess sales (duh), but why can't we just have a good story in a single series that has some guest stars and takes care of the whole deal. Disses to M is just so drawn out. Eliminating the number of mutants could have easily been done in a six issue arc of an X-Book, and been really fun. It looks like the X-Men are gonna save the day and then BAM.. some genetically engineered virus or chemical is released which nullifies the mutant genes. All of a sudden the mutant population gets cut to a sliver and we the readers are caught by suprise. THAT would have been cool. Even still using Wanda but without all the fluff.

I'd get the Other if it weren't spread over so many books/issues. Heck, I wanted to pick up Friendly but since they're all related I decided against it.

Planet Hulk.. I'm waiting on. I really liked the Hulk in the 70's and 80's, something that would bring back those fun days would be nice.

The FF COULD have been altered massively in JMS' first arc but it looks like the additional cosmic ray bombardment did nothing to them physically, and little for me as a reader after being very excited about the new creative team.

Instead of going for the overblown hype and extra padding I wish they'd just have some good solid stories self contained in particular series. It's like we're supposed to be overly impressed when the happenings in one of these EVENTS is reflected anywhere else in the MU, I guess since series to series continuity is so hard to find anymore (Hey look..Asgard's floating over NY..hmm.)
