I know I'm probably going to be slammed for saying this, but I just saw this movie and liked it. It was sweet and funny, just like the cartoon was. Interesting, if true, backstory on the real-life group that inspired the series was slipped into the story too. I took it that that was the real Rudy, Russell, Mush Mouth etc. at Albert's grave.

I liked "the fade" as the reason the characters from a simpler time (and show) had to leave the real world. Liked the updated animation of the cartoon world as well...maybe a new series could spin-off?

Oh well, I've said my piece...now I'll just sit over here and duck from the coming onslaught.

I just saw it on HBO the other day, and I was impressed. It was a pretty damn good movie.

Yeah, me too. It would be cool to see a spin-off t.v. show.

I watched it on HBO too, and except for a few truly cringe-inducing moments (Fat Albert RAPS!), it was much better than I was expecting.

I suppose that I had heard so many negative things about it that my expectations were very low.

I enjoyed it tho.

(same thing w/ Exorcist: the Beginning. . . .even with the worst CGI I've ever seen in a film. . . .wasn't too bad).

It was better than I suspected it would be all things considered.

The guys at the grave site weren't the real guys. Only Bill (Bill Cosby) and Russell (Bill's realife brother) were the real deal. But yeah, the characters were all inspired after Cosby's real life childhood friends.

I dunno. Probably wouldn't be as good as the original cartoon.
