So, I understand now that Pitch Black was the beginning of the movie-(mini)saga that ended recently with The Chronicles of Riddick, with a bit of fun in-between called Dark Fury in anime-style.

I don't have a clue what the Riddick story is, but if anyone can point me to a resource where I could immerse myself in this really interesting world and learn more about it (perhaps find some books?) I'd thank you for it.

BTW, I've read the reviews on the Foster book, and as far as I can see the Chronicles and Pitch Black books were both adaptations from the movie... So I guess I'm looking for the original content, something that describes the story that wasn't a Hollywood interpretation.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

As far as I know, there are no other books. I was always under the assumption that Pitch Black was a movie based on an original screenplay.

I did some searches on Amazon and all I found were the novelizations of the two movies. I've never heard of anything else being published.

The game Chronices of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay expands on the Riddick universe. It takes place before Pitch Black, and is available on Xbox and PC. Thats the only additional material I know of for the Riddidck story.

It's a great game, too, I might add. Really adds to the Riddick story, as opposed to other movie-based games that just rehash and replay the film's events... other games would do well to take note.
