To celebrate my 100th post I'm opening a new thread with a poll asking you guys what your favourite Spider-Man cartoon of all time is. My favourite Spider-Man cartoon and also my favourite show of all time is the 1994-1998 Spider-Man animated series. I watched the show every Saturday on "Live and Kicking" when I was a kid. Every kid had a show they grew up with and loved very much and that was the show I grew up with and loved and still do. I love everything about the show. It was the closet cartoon to portraying Spider-Man in the comics and there wasn't a single episode I disliked at all. I remember a couple of years in the show's run I got cable for the first time which had the Fox Kids channel. I could finally watch Spider-Man everyday. Fox Kids even showed new episodes before "Live and Kicking" did but disaster eventually struck. After the two parter Spider-Carnage episode finished it mysteriously just stoped showing new episodes. I even went back to watch "Live and Kicking" to see if they would show new episodes but they didn't show them either. It finally hit me, the amazing show I grew up with watching had finally ended. I was gutted for not only that it ended but that it was also left on a cliffhanger, never knowing if Spider-Man and Madame Web ever did find the real Mary Jane. Back in 2003 a new Spider-Man cartoon came out on Nickelodeon every Saturday and Sunday and I can honestly say, This was the first thing I acually disliked about Spider-Man ever!
The show wasn't anything like good ol' Spidey. They tarnished classic villians with stupid new looks and most episodes villians was a bloody bank robber or a thief in a high tech costume. I can see that happening as a side plot for a few minutes but not for the whole episode. The only villian I liked in that show was Kingpin. Every character just didn't look right. What on earth did they do to poor Harry and Mary Jane. Harry looked bloody ridiculous and Mary Jane looked like a goth and don't get me started on the new love interest they gave Peter in the show. Thank God they cancelled it!

I opted for the '67 version since that's the one I watched on television as a kid.

I went with the 90's one. It kinda got lame towards the end, but at least I got to see Scarlet Spider. The 03 one was cool, way better than Unlimited, what were they thinking (cool costume though).

The 03 one was cool

That's what I went with. I've watched these episodes numerous times and really, really like them. I would like to see another season of this series.

The 90īs one was one of my favorite cartoons when I was younger and itīs what really introduced me to Spider-man and his villains so I vote for that one.

The 90's cartoon. But even it was really lame compared to the X-Men cartoon.

I started liking spidey through the 90's cartoon and that's all a good reason for that vote. And to second place goes to the new recent cartoon show on MTV. It had it's moments people!

I had that same thought, was it me or did it just seem like lazer guns would just kinda sting a little instead of actually harming anyone?

They wanted to use real guns but those bastards at Fox forced them to take them out thinking it was too violent for the kiddies and they were not allowed to use punches either thinking that was also too violent. Honestly Batman got away with it and still to this day they allow it in future DC cartoons so why couldn't Spider-Man. Despite its flaws it's still my favourite show of all time. I just wished Warner Brothers bought the rights to Spider-Man instead of Fox.

The '03 series. Close behind the 90s series because of the wacky characters they brought back (Madame Web).

Indeed, punches and guns are very violent.Even the Sinister Six was violent(and they called them...Insidius Six)

I voted Spiderman and his Amazing Friends, I grew up to that one in the early 80's and used to love watching them. I believe these were the cartoons that made Stan's voice famous. I loved hearing him pitch each episode and the way he started it with "Hello again true believers!" and then finished off by saying "Excelsior!".

One thing I thought was funny about that series was the fact that Spiderman apparently lived with Iceman and Firestar, and thier apartment funiture would flip over to reveal special crime fighting computers, hehe. As rediculous as it sounds, when your a kid it didn't really matter, it only added to the excitment and action. It was cool to see them work together, plus double the wisecracks from both Iceman and Spidey, hehe.

I haven't seen those in forever, and wouldn't mind owning them on dvd one day if released. On the Spiderman movie extras dvd, there's an interview with Stan and he talks about how people had approached him in the past, before most poeple knew what he looked like, and asked him if he was Stan Lee because they heard his voice and recognized it from these cartoons. His voice just has a certian character that's perfect for talking about superheroes somehow. :)

I liked the 94-98 Fox Kids Spiderman, and watched them even though I was allready in my 20's (I was recording Silver Surfer at the time). I think officially these were the best Spiderman cartoons as far as adapting from the comics, and had a great production quality and look, minus Stans narrating voice unfortunaly :(.

I even recorded the Secret Wars episodes since I'm a fan of SW and have the comics. I was actually waking up early on Saturdays to record the Silver Surfer cartoons and happen to catch the Secret Wars Spiderman episodes. Even though they twisted the original SW story completly, I still liked them, and it got me to start watching the show regularly after the Silver Surfer. I think X-Men came on after Spidey, and that cartoon was great too, good days.

Whichever one it was that gave us that cool "does whatever a spider can" theme.

I voted for Spidey and his Amazing Friends, although I would say its a tie with the 60's series. I dug the Amazing Friends for all of the cool guest appearances. And the 60s for the episodes where somehow a nuclear reactor would lift manhattan into the sky and Spidey would swin underneath the city....ok that part was lame but otherwise.

It was an easy choice for me. The 90's series, along with X-Men, got me back into comics.

Ah yes, the 90's X-Men cartoon. Classic that was.

I'd say the 90's cartoon since that was the first time I've seen him in some pretty good animation as well as giving him a great voice. The 03' one was really good too but it was short lived and was played more off of the movie universe with it's own stuff.

The only knock on the 90's cartoon I would have is the mixing of CG and animation and some of the art style. It became very inconsistent towards the end and some characters were depicted kind of lame like Thing in that Secret War storyline.

90's cartoon 4 eva. The Spiderman Unlimited premise and costume sucked but i liked the way they drew Peter and the art style in general was kinda cool i wished they just had it set in regular old manhattan.

Whats the 1981 cartoon? never heard of it. Link anyone?

Obviously the 90's cartoon. The best animation and the best storyline. The 60's one wouldve been better if they only had better animation.

So the mid-90's show it is.

I'm working on it, but I'm having trouble cropping it to a square size.

I went with Amazing Friends. I still have a major crush on Firestar. As far as cartoons go she is smoking and the skin tight yellow body suit is WOW! When I first started reading comics I thought Mary Jane was Firestar. I still wish she was.

The 90s will certainly be the best remembered because they really had the most character moments and great villains. If Firestar had appeared it probably would have got my vote.
